Advantages: Location, helpful staff Disadvantages: Really just a bed and breakfast
...stayed 3 nights in the Astor Hotel, Zurich whilst attending a conference in the city. While the staff were very helpful and the accomodation adequate, it didn't overly impress me.
The hotel is conveniently located, just 5 minutes' walk from the city centre and has a tram line and stop just outside the front entrance. This can be very handy, but the noise can also make it difficult to get an early night. The single room I stayed in was well-sized ... ...are willing to pay for the convenient location, then it's fine. I do intend to go back to Zurich some day - it's a beautiful little city - but I think I'll look elsewhere for accomodation with more benefits. Hotel Astor isn't bad - it's just not great. ...
