...Nottingham. I travelled with BMI baby in May 2003 to Jersey. I found no problems at the airport and the flight was basic but adequate and what you would expect for the price. My problem arose when the return flight was cancelled. After queueing for some time to speak to the lone rep at Jersey airport we were told it was due to the weather in Jersey (bright blue sky and sunshine - not affecting any of the other airlines. BMI Baby:-Baby fares, and baby service!!! The planes... Mostly Boeing 737s to my knowledge, BMI Baby's planes are mostly almost new and in good condition, however age is not everything. The planes are very small and very cramped with virtually no room for your legs (I am 1'7 metres tall and struggle). ...great for us. Both BMI Baby and Easyjet have regular flights out to various destinations, in my most recent 3 flights I have travelled with BMI Baby. Flying to Edinburgh, Paris & Knock are all the less than 1 hour 'hops' by plane and all have been extremely enjoyable and I must congratulate BMI on there service through. The staff have all been friendly, the planes etc tidy and the flight costs have all been bargains - try getting to these places ... Read review

I found BMIbaby was realy easy to book and pay for from their website, it took no time at all and the confirmation was sent straight to me. When i arrived at the airport i found all of the staff were friendly and helpful and there were no ques at the check in desk. 14 hour delay with bmi no body to talk to no one cares have to write a letter of complaint no one to speak to over the telephone. no compensation no nothing.would never fly with these again no never ever.Poor customer service cramped seats. a 14 hour delay from barcelona to birmingham with no sleep over night no hotel is just not funny!BMI responce was very unsatisfactory even wrote to the MD what a waste of a stamp!They may be cheap but who wants to spend 14 hours in a airport overnight and they dont even want to give you a food voucher. Fly with them at your own risk!!If they gave me round the world free tickets I wouldnt take them!

In 55 years of air travel, I have never experienced anything like BMI-Baby's ineptitude and callous regard for the feelings of its passengers. On 20th June 2008 the 16.40 Manchester - Prague flight departed at 23.00, causing its passengers to be stranded at Prague at two in the morning; long after all public transport to the city had ceased. The result was a field day for the taxi drivers who charge more than ten times the normal train fare for the 15-mile journey. Passengers who complained to the BMI Baby staff at Manchester were told they were being abusive and were threatened with the police. The airline is a disgrace to the industry.

...Apparently from 29th November 1006, BMI now charge a standard rate of £5 per piece of checked bagage, or £2.50 if prebooked over the internet before travel. I contacted BMI and was told that this only applied to bookings made after 29th November, fine, this didnt include me as i booked in October. But i had another query about the luggage allowance per person. Apparently now the new change in place means that each person has a 20Kg bagage allowance ... Read review

...huge long queue for ALL BMI flights, it took hours. Every time got near to the front they shouted through another flight in front - everyone was so late and paniced - what a farce. It was nearly as bad coming back from Spain - huge queues - it obviously dosn't pay you to come early as you just keep getting shoved to the back to make way for people on flights before yours who arrive late!!
