...the Northeast has to be Baja - a beach themed club in Gateshead which plays the likes of Jackson 5. but its strangely really fun!!
Situated on the edge of the Tyne on the Gateshead side of the swingbridge and nextdoor to the Tuxedo Princess aka "the boat" Baja is at the centre of one of Newcastles biggest nightspots, nearby to loads of pubs and bars to get u started on a night out. From what i can gather Baja is open all week, with the main party ... ...to party!!
Baja basically is a beach themed nightclub, emphasising on just having really good fun rather than hardcore clubbing. The main clientele is students and locals late teens and early twenties and there is really no hastle betwen locals and students with everyone really friendly towards each other. There is a large central dancefloor charmingly known as "the pen" cos it can get very tight at times with seating surrounding it as well as two ...

...same.
Then along comes the Baja Beach Club (pronounced Baha).
At first it was an "exclusive, place to be" nightclub, now everyone goes, and its that popular you WILL have to que for anywhere upto 30 mins just to get in - but once you are in, let the fun begin!
The best way to describe Baja would be "Cheesy".
Its full of 80's music and you wont be surprised to hear "I Think Were Alone Now" by Tiffany, "Never Give You Up" by Rick AStley etc etc. ... ...there is nothin better.
Baja is not for the uptight, stuck up clubbers, its for ppl who could not give a F*** and are simply out to enjoy themselves.
The staff are friendly, scantily clad in bikinis and beach wear (the norm nowadays).
The door staff are even better. Nice friendly & helpful (until you cross them, even then they are diplomatic and will evict you in a calm manner - From what Ive seen - I aint been thrown out - lol).
They have a ...

Advantages: Cheesy, Has the Tunes on, good for a laugh Disadvantages: Only go once, gets very boring. expensive, some people take it seriously
...people raving about how good Baja is. Well i want to try and counter balance this arguement.
In Newcastle, when it comes to nights out, there is absolutely everything! There are clubs to suit all; dance, rock, jazz and pop clubs-a-plenty.
Most people who visit Newcastle, will do the Bigg Market and the quayside. Because of this, it is inevitable you will end up in Baja. Baja is the place to be to get cheezy pop music from all eras, which are guarenteed ... ...seriously need to grow up. Baja is where all the underage kids go who cant get in anywhere else. I know because I was one of them!!!
Drinks are roughly about £2 each, but be prepared to wait awhile for service. My problem with Baja is that when you have been in most of the bars in Newcastle, you have probably already been listening to these tunes all night, and this place just mixes them together and lets you dance. But by this point, you are usually ...

...Bud, Metz, WKD & more). Baja also sells a large variety of cocktails (it is a beach club, after all) and has a self-contained burger bar/restaurant with surprisingly resonable prices.
Music-wise, Baja is not for "hard-core" clubbers (see Ikon or the nearby boat/club Tuxedo Princess). Instead it offers a mix of top 60s/70s/80s/90s music, as well as a selection of the best dance tracks currently around.
And the girls, oh! the girls.....
However, ...
