Advantages: A great way to take in almost everything the city has to offer. Disadvantages: You will look like a right tourist!
...layout of the place, as Barcelona is not particularly difficult to get around. But as we did both the blue and red line in that first day, we ended up spending about 4 hours on top of a bus, at the end of which we found we suffered from a very bad case of 'numb bum'. The second day, although only costing an extra 4 € each, was not as useful as we had hoped, as the buses go around in loops, and you have to go right round before getting back to where ... ...famous son after Picasso. Barcelona could be called Gaudi city, so numerous are his legacies and so representative of the city. The high vantage point is a huge bonus to see some of the landmarks, such as the Sagrada Família (or 'Sangria Familia', as we overheard one tourist call it…), or the Park Güell, the Casa Batló and the Casa Milà (known as La Perdrera).

Advantages: Good Value way to see the city, good guides with useful information, Money off vouchers are handy Disadvantages: When it rains you get stuck inside, 4 hour round trip
...about our recent trip to Barcelona was the amount of touristy things we did and surprisingly the lack of drinking. But the chance to explore the fantastic City of Barcelona seemed too good to pass up so, having visited the Nou Camp we needed to find a way to get to the Olympic Stadium on the other side of the city and rather than get a Taxi we decided to jump on the Bus Turistic.
One of the first things we had to ask though was what exactly was ... ...take in the views of Barcelona as they pass you by. In fact probably one of the best views was as you go past the Olympic swimming pool and look out over the city, which is all rather impressive, if your into that sort of thing.
The bus is the best way to see the city and get around the attractions, however on a rainy day you end up stuck inside till the rain passes over and it can get very cramped in there. They probably have the capacity for about ...

Advantages: English and Spanish commentary and a simple way to see the city Disadvantages: Long queues in peak season, and when the bus stops for 5 mins the sun is very hot!
...soon as we arrived in Barcelona the waiter, seeing us struggling with tourist maps, recommended we get on the tourist bus. Now, this is something I would never do normally - preferring to explore cities independently, but as it was 30 degrees out and I am fairly pregnant at the moment, it seemed like a good option. Updating the previous review, there are now 3 routes - red, blue and green. The red route takes 1 ¾ hour if you don't disembark and covers ... ...Parc Guill being particular highlights. Several of the more obscure northern stops few people got on or off. The blue route overlaps the red at several places in the middle of the city and covers the Olympic area, Old Port and allows you to transfer to the Green route with goes further east along the beach. Tickets allow you to get on and off to your hearts content.
The one day pass now costs 17 Euros, and a two day pass is a significant saving ...

Advantages: Very frequent service, no queues to get on even in summer Disadvantages: buses only go in one direction so is difficult to back-track
Using the bus turistic is a fun and relatively cheap way to travel around Barcelona. There are three routes (red, blue and green) which visit all of the main sites in the city. Using these buses is not only a fairly quick way of visitng the tourist attractions, it is also a great way of experiencing the city itself as the buses are open top and you can see a great deal whilst travelling between sites.
The buses are really frequent (every 5 minutes) ...
