Advantages: you can meet different races Disadvantages: nothing
Of course, Barcelona isn't big like London or Paris with their 8/9 millions inhabitants, but it offers more attractions. At first you can visit a lot of bars where you can have the first experience with the Spanish mentality. Then, you can visit the wonderful monuments of Gaudí like "Sagrada Familia" or "Parc Güell". Barcelona has also one of the beautifulness pedestrian walkways (perhaps the beautifulness) of the world: "Las Ramblas". In "Las Ramblas" ... ...wonderfulness beach in Barcelona: "la barceloneta". Then you can visit "Montjuiic" where you can see the fountains, which in combination with music change the colour of the water. To sum up: Barcelona is a city where you can meet art, fun people, nature and other things in one place. ...

Advantages: Great city, fun, party, culture, nice people Disadvantages:
I stayed in Barcelona for a two weeks languagecourse during september this year. I didn't have an idea which kind of city it would be; but already on the way to my youth hostel, which was situated directly at Las Ramblas, I knew that the time there will be just perfect - and I was right!!! Barcelona is just a great city - old buildings, nice, little streets, Las Ramblas, Sagrada Familia, the beach, many great bars and clubs - and last but not least ...

Advantages: Peaceful, Slow moving, Nice area, friendly Disadvantages: Shops open late, hard to get around, not a great night life
I went to Barcelona a few months ago with my cousins, it wasn't exactly the greatest time of my life. It cost around £200 in all and we got to stay in a hotel near the beach but it was pretty deserted, I don't know if this is because we went during easter or anything. It was quite easy finding english speaking people and the seafood was fantastic but the bars and clubs have a lot to be desired. The taxi service will rip you off if you're not watching ... ...we got there. The underground system is also particularly hard to figure out. The shops open at around 11 which is quite inconvinient as there's nothing much to do. There also have fiesta (I don't remember what they cal it) time where they take time off working to do god knows what, and they close really early. The stuff is cheap though, and you can walk around in a bikini like a true tourist without being judged.
They have really cool markets. ...

Barcelona is not only an historic and memorable City, it offers hundreds of other different aspects, such as a Football stadium and also the bustleling nightlife and daylife. The culture and shops are stacked with "Regales" (souveniers). The Metro system is not unlike London's underground, although it is cheaper! But not only that, there is also a museum, you can look around at the signed boots and the shirts. (You cannot eat or drink in the museum, but you can in the ...

Advantages: beautiful and friendly city Disadvantages: many bank holidays, need to pick the right time to go
Barcelona as the capital of Spain is a very beautiful city to visit. With the seaside nearby, taking a sun bath in the sunny city is really something good for a weekends/short trip. The food there was good and is rather cheap compared to UK, so be prepared to put on weight after the trip. The people there are really friendly and helpful. Buildings build by Mr Guide, a famous Spanish architech are the main attraction of the town. His fairly-land like ...
