Advantages: Historic, fantastic architecture Disadvantages: Very pricey, take sandwiches
Ever wanted to visit Bath – Don’t do it if you value your wallet contents -Its rip off Britain at its best. Being relatively local (30 miles) I was appalled at its lack of warmth, and friendliness, most shops totally ignored us and if we asked a question they deigned to reply in monosyllables. You never feel like spending money when you are being treated like a bad smell but the lack of information and rip off status certainly got my back up.
I ... ...final day head for London. Bath was the day before this and I certainly wish I hadn’t bothered. Parking was £5 for the day- ok reasonable and easy to get to. To find anything you had to buy a map from a machine at a £1. The tourist information was tucked away in an obscure street which we found by accident whilst visiting the Abbey which I can say is certainly worth the visit. The staff were helpful, informative and the abbey is positively beautiful ...

Advantages: Amazing architecture Disadvantages: Can be expensive, can be crowded in the summer with tourists
I have been to Bath many times and always enjoy the atmosphere and the architecture. When showing some american guests the finer places in the country, Bath was on my "must see" list.
It is famous for the Roman Baths and although I am not usually a fan of historical sites, I found the Baths fascinating. It is a requirement in my opinion to sample the spa water in the Pump Rooms, although I defy anyone to actually say they enjoy the taste of the ... ...stone colour. Famous landmarks such as the Circus, Royal Crescent and Pultney Bridge are well worth seeing. Open top buses offer tours of the city but are now banned from the Royal Crescent, there were far too many of them and the residents of the Royal Crescent were not pleased.
Even if like me you do not get excited about history, I would recommend a visit to Bath. There are plenty of places to eat out and to stay, however being a popular destination ...

Bath is one of my favourite places ever. I will never forget the first time I visited, it was night time and we drove around the top of the valley, just looking down in awe at the beautiful little city at the bottom.
Ever since then I have been captivated by it's charm and beauty, the twisting streets and stone houses are so different to the east side of the country, that you can't help falling in love.
The bath's themselves give out a feeling ...

Advantages: Very beautiful city Disadvantages: Not much for children
I have lived in Bath all my life (19 years), and feel very fortunate to have done so. It is a Beautiful City and well worth a visit, whatever the weather, there is plenty to do. In fine weather there are plenty of walks around the city with wonderful views. Prior park gardens is well worth a walk around and is situated a short walk away from the city.
There are also the obvious attractions which Bath is famous for; the pump rooms, the Roman Baths ... ...the other hidden attractions that Bath has to offer. There are some very unique and original shops which lie just off the main streets, and some very good restaurants. I believe that the best way to explore Bath is by foot. It is a wonderful city to wander around, and the main attractions are all within very easy walking distance of each other. The tour bus is quite expensive and it is hard to really take in the atmosphere of Bath on top of a double ...

Advantages: Great Roman and Victorian architecture Disadvantages: A lot of begging in the streets
...Baths can be found, but Bath has many other attractions like the Royal Crescent, its surrounding countryside, Queens Square, its thriving city centre shopping areas, and a great collection of pubs/bars/cafes.
A must visit place is Milsom Street, if you like art, as there are lots of little arty shops and galleries here, as well as some of the better known high street names.

Bath is chocka full of tourists – but with good reason. This town has got a unique atmosphere. Some may call it pretentious or overtly middle-class, but no one can deny that the Georgian architecture is stunning in its scale and completeness. It is best seen on foot, and definitely not on one of the dreaded ‘tour buses’ which circle the town every five minutes belching out horrendous amounts of thick black smoke with only a handful of tourists on ... ...streets; try out some of the cafes – The Adventure Café in George Street is particularly good for enormous sandwiches and smoothies; make sure you make a reservation if you want to eat anywhere on a Saturday or Sunday; avoid the nightclubs, they’re not much good and finally be prepared to spend a lot of money on sightseeing and shopping! ...

...used to the smaller towns Bath offers a good alternative to what many of us do week to week.
The atmosphere around the city is great and there is a good choice of traditional pubs or trendy bars and a useful choice of clubs.
There is also a great mix of people in the city and with clubs like Babylon, The Fez Club, Po Na Na, Porters & Cadilac's, there is a good choice for all types of socialiser.
Overall, unless you are used to the brighter lights ...

Advantages: beautiful, friendly, pleasant Disadvantages: expensive
I've long ago decided that Bath is my favorite city in the UK.
I first went on a visit to Bath University for an open day and interview. The scenery was as gentle as the people's accents, and the Bath Abbey was beautiful. Obviously a tourist spot, the locals were also very friendly and helpful. I especially enjoyed The Crescent. The Roman Baths were informative, if a bit expensive.
The land was quite hilly but it was sunny while I was there, which ...

Bath is a historic town formally inhabited by the Romans, in their path they left us with the Roman Baths soon 2 be re-opened to the public. I have lived in and around Bath for many years and must say it is a glorious city, full of life, and memories. You can visit Lucy Lunns house the first person ever 2 live in Bath and then go shopping amongst the many shops. Or maybe even a trip to the theatre royal a most amazing sight once inside. Bath does ...
