Take me back to the other hotel!!!

Advantages: All-inclusive, clean
Disadvantages: Awful food, very poor pool

...we arrived back at the Bella Vista they checked us in fairly efficiently but there was no real friendliness about it as there had been in the Dolmen. I was ready for a few choice words with them about the fact we'd been shipped off and decided that as the spokeman of the group I was going to accept nothing less than all-inclusive. To be fair, they had already decided that we were going to get this and this seemed fair compensation to us so we were ...
...it. FACILITIES: The Bella Vista wasn't badly equipped, just not as well equipped as the Dolmen! In the lobby there were four computers where you could connect to the Internet (you had to pay for it at reception). Also in the lobby there was a seating area with a TV which seemed to have a constant stream of English football on! There was a shelf of books which you could borrow from although we didn't as we each seem to have brought our own mini-library! ...

Fair - could be worse but could be much better!

Advantages: good indoor pool/jacuzzi, good roof terrace
Disadvantages: location perhaps not the best

...to stay at the Hotel Bella Vista. We had actually booked the Buggibba Holiday Complex, but then I became aware of this site and after reading the reviews I was soon back at the Travel Agents to enquire about changing our accommodation. Unfortunately, the alternative options were pretty limited and I ended up choosing the Bella Vista despite the reviews on here not being the best. Firstly, Malta is a great place - the people are - on the whole - ...
...leading to and from the bella vista but if you go left from the hotel, the pavement soon widens out. The same is true if you go right as well and this is the way to go if you want to get to the square in Bugibba quickly. However, follow the pavement left from the front of the hotel and you'll soon reach a variety of restaurants and min markets and the like. For the young ones there's a club called Fuego down this way, which seems really popular - ...

Bella Vista Hotel , Our family holiday

Advantages: accommodating for large families, indoor pool nice and quiet, modern
Disadvantages: right on a main busy road, not many amenities close-by like small shop etc

...and our experience of the bella vista hasn't put us off going back to it in the future although we like to try different hotels. But if you want a basic base, not too expensive and don't mind it being out of the main hustle and bustle but within walking distance then this hotel is ideal. ...

The Maltese Experience

Advantages: Central Location
Disadvantages: Lack of Facilities

I went to Malta as a child and remember the beautiful landscapes and views and wonderfull fishing restaurants along the peacefull coast. This is why we decided on a summer holiday this year to Malta. I booked a late booking through the internet, although this wasnt cheap for a week (compared to other places) my memories told me it would be well worth it. ~~~~~~ Malta~~~~~~~ The island of Malta is still very beautifull with lots to explore for ...
...small is a bonus as all areas of the island are accessable by bus for a day trip. But the small fishing communities have been invaded by alot of tourists, therefore you will now find fast food restaurants and high prices to boot. The small amount of beaches are now full of rows and rows of sunbeds. Because there are so few beaches it was hard to get anywhere near the sea and the beach snack huts are constantly full so be prepared to wait! ~~~~~~~~~~~~Bella ...

Bella vista - a good base for walkers

Advantages: location, comfortable rooms
Disadvantages: not much communal space indoors

...We stayed at the Bella Vista Hotel for a week at the beginning of February, and expecting indifferent but slightly warmer than British weather were very lucky to have sunshine and T-shirt comfortable temperatures for most of the days. We planned to explore Malta by walking - and in fact covered much of the Island on foot and by bus. For this the hotel was just fine. By turning right out of the hotel and walking for about five minutes to the edge ...
...of buses to most places on the island - much better than if we had been travelling from the bus station in Buggiba. So, for our wants the location couldn't have been better. Food was fine - we could help ourselves to buffet breakfasts and evening meals. For example I somehow managed to work my way through slices of fresh orange, a bowl of plain yoghurt, fried eggs, sausages and beans and toast and marmalade for breakfast!!!!! To keep up my strength ...

Poor hotel on a lovely island

Advantages: Climate, pool terrace on top of building
Disadvantages: Staff, facilities, rooms the whole experience

...we would never consider the Bella Vista again. We are widely travelled to 3rd world places like India and this so called 2 star hotel was an insult to 2 stars. The food was okay but unimaginative, the location was noisy and quite a way from the main town, the rooms can only be described a s adequate and we had a ridiculously small balcony ( we had to take turns to sit on it !) overlooking what seemed like a housing estate. What was particularly awful ...
...staff and their total lack of customer care. It seemed as if they couldn't care less about the guests and just seemed interested in enforcing petty rules. I was told off ( yes actually told off) by the head waiter in front of other guests for weearing a vest to lunch when others were coming in shorts and halter tops and a complaint to the manager ( we are not complainers by nature usually preferring to laugh at the cultural differences) was not acknowledged. ...

very poor hotel

Advantages: if you like walking miles to get anywhere
Disadvantages: not near sea, resort or civilisation

I've back packed and this had worse food than any asian youth hostel. Don't pay more than £100 a week for this place. The toilets block, the pool is in the shade all day and the all inclusive is a sham. Pick one of the many good hotels in Malta instead of this one and don't ruin your holiday. You will have to walk a long way to get to the bus station in bugibbe. The rest of the coast road hotels are located 2 miles away , this one is opposite waste ...
