Advantages: Lots to do, reasonably priced holiday, excellent staff Disadvantages: The hill
...so when we saw the Bideford Bay site in the brochure, it wasn't difficult to decide that this was the one to try. The site itself isn't actually situated in Bideford, but is about 9 miles down the coast and the main gates to the site can be found in a lovely little place called Bucks Cross.
There isn't an easy way down to the beach from the site but nearby you can find some fantastic beaches at Westward Ho and Bude, as well as some lovely surfer ... ...the lovely picturesque town of Bideford we headed to the site to see what awaited us. We were going for the whole week option of Saturday to Saturday but there are options of short breaks available for either Friday to Monday or Monday to Friday.
Booking in is meant to be from 4pm but luckily we were able to get in around 2pm - I think this depends on what type of accommodation you book and what time of year as in high season I would imagine it ...

Advantages: Sparkys Krew and the Teamstars Disadvantages: Food facilities
...is about 9 miles from Bideford itself. It is within driving distance of Westward Ho and Clovelly. There are 2 theme parks fairly nearby, The Big Sheep and The Milky Way. Bideford itself is the nearest place for any well known shops as the surrounding area is mainly villages. The park is also about a half hour drive from Bude in Cornwall. The Leisure Facilities
There is an outdoor pool with a water slide which has outdoor changing rooms. There is ... ...the indoor pool and found the water pleasantly warm. Its great for the kids as it has a small shallow round pool which filters water into a longer traditional pool which is 0.9m at the shallow end and 1.1m at the deepest end. Its not so great for the adults therefore if you are wanting to swim as your feet are never far from the bottom. The lifeguard was very helpful, offering advice on armbands for our son. Advantages: Cheap and cheerfull Disadvantages: Steep hill and poor restaurant.
Just returned from a mid week break in April 2008. Check in was very busy but well organised and we were directed to our silver chalet. This had two good sized bedrooms, large bathroom and spacious lounge-kitchen. Heating in all rooms. Only downside is the site is on the side of a very steep hill and returning to chalet was a little taxing.
The small reastaurant was a huge disappointment. It was pot luck wether the items on the menu were available. ...
