Advantages: A classic Disney ride, fun for almost everyone, can Fastpass Disadvantages: Queues and isn't exactly white knuckle!
Big Thunder Mountain is a ride in Disneyland Paris. There is also a version of the same ride in Magic Kingdom Florida and Disneyland California. It can be found in 'Frontierland' which is situated on the west side of the park. Other attractions in Frontierland include the Phantom Manor and the Thunder Mesa Riverboat Landing (which is a big Mississippi riverboat which sails the lake around Big Thunder Mountain). As with all the rides in Disneyland ... ...You can't miss Big Thunder Mountain as it is set on a huge orangey red rock and as the ride is in contant use trains go by every minute or so. The theme behind the ride is that gold was discovered on big thunder mountain way back in the late 1880's and a mining company soon got involved. Advantages: unmissable ride that epitomises Disneyland Paris. Disadvantages: The queues can be horrendous.

Our first visit to Disneyland Paris was for the New Year 2001, my son was five (almost six) and was so excited. Even then he was obsessed with roller coasters and he had not stopped looking on the Disneyland website at Big Thunder Mountain - he couldn't wait to go on it. We knew he was tall enough for the ride so he wasn't going to be disappointed. I'll never forget the first day we walked through those gates at the entrance ... ...Frontierland ( the home of Big Thunder Mountain) quickly. As we walked into the Wild West of the USA there, dominating the area, was the 200ft tall red 'rock' island that housed the 'Thunder Mesa Mining Company', and the Big Thunder Mountain ride.
