Advantages: Great, spacious, large. Disadvantages: Perhaps a little old, but still going strong.
Bilbao Airport has recently opened a new terminal, which is absolutely breathtaking from the outside. It offers new gates with AirBridges, the runway has been extended to accomodate bigger aircraft and the airport has generally been improved.
On the inside, however, the airport is also fantastic. It's very spacious and well laid-out, it's easy to use and find your way around and the ground staff - both airport information and the airline staff are ... ...very big and spacios.
Bilbao handles thousands of passengers a day, and has a smaller airport than Heathrow, so how come Heathrow always looks so cluttered. I think one reason is the the airport is just like a big room - the gates, well there's a wall through the middle for security, but apart from that it's one big room.

In my opinion go to bilbao airport in the capital of the Basque country. ETA, the basque seperatist group, don't seem to cause many problems there, and it is a nice short flight from england to get there. I really would recommend that you go there.
When you arrive at Bilbao airport(sondica) you will find that it is nice, clean healthy and very new. When I went there a month ago, it took me five minutes to leave the place. All nice and relaxed.
