Blackfriars One of my favourite rstaurants in Newcastle, we went a few days ago for a mid week meal. Bit of history... ...husband and I went to Blackfriars for our anniversary, we opted for the set menu as the 'al la carte menu' is rather steep. I opted for the vegetarian option of coliflower cheese... I didn't have much choice as that was the only meat free mains. My hubby got 'the steak' his actual order was, 'I'll have the steak'. The food was rather bland and to be honest even at the £8.50 set menu price my boring coliflower cheese was over priced, I've had better ...

We only wanted a quick 2 minute coffee before heading home so my friend and I went for a cup of coffee with cream and were instructed to sit outside and that the coffees would be brought out to us. I always make sure I 'm going to get cream with coffee. We waited for over 30 minutes, we reminded them twice about the order, and then it arrived with a small jug of milk and the coffee was stone-cold! We then complained and they said they would come ...
