Kiss Me Quick Hats.

Advantages: So much to see and do.
Disadvantages: So many people.

...you on your way to Blackpool the first thing they will probably ask you is “Will you be buying a Kiss Me Quick hat?” The sight of funny hats, weird wigs and unusual clothing seems to epitomise a lot of what Blackpool is all about. It is the sort of seaside resort that you either love or hate. We seem to end up there about once every two years and love it, but after a couple of days we have had enough and are glad to making our way home. ...
...snack bars. Around Blackpool there are street after street of hotels and guest houses, all vying for business, all claiming to offer bigger and better facilities than anybody else. But why is this seaside town so popular? The first answer must be that it is so easy to get to. The M55 motorway seems to almost go right into the heart of Blackpool and when you do arrive by car there is an enormous area right behind the seafront known as “Central ...

Kiss Me Quick

Advantages: Lots to do, places to go, the zoo, the park
Disadvantages: Lager louts, casual violence.

...stars from time to time. Blackpool Zoo and Stanley Park are certainly worth a look. ~ Negative things - for the Tourist: Although the beaches are cleaner, I still would not done my swimming trunks and go for a swim in the sea; there are a lot of tacky shops here, several boasting ‘everything for a quid!’ You get a lot of day-trippers out for a good time (and general p**s up) and they can be rowdy. I would not buy ANYthing to eat from ...
...is growing talk of making Blackpool Britain’s answer to Las Vegas, with plans that will inevitably go ahead. I am not anti gay, but we have more than out share of gay pubs, too, and there look to be more being built! ~ To summarize: I used to live in another Lancashire town (forgive me Blackburn) and I would not go back, never. Now if I were to be offered a home in the Lakes, I am not saying I would turn the offer down! Blackpool might have ...

A tip for those organising a stag or hen party

Advantages: Fun and cheap
Disadvantages: Busy

Blackpool is definitely the best place in the UK to go for a night out especially if you are on a hen/stag night. There are loads of pubs and clubs and there is a good mix/variety of them, so there is something for everyone. Blackpool is fairly easy to get to wherever you are coming from. Even from London, you can drive it in around three and a half hours or get the train in under 4 (via Preston). Blackpool is at the end of the M55 which is off the ...
...cannot move for B&Bs in Blackpool so you are never short of somewhere to stay cheaply if you want or there are more expensive and some quite nice hotels as well (Stakis, Imperial, De Vere). You can turn up at a lot of places without booking ahead as well. All the pubs and clubs are close together in the middle of town, just off the prom (sea front). My main recommendations are; For the young and those wanting to "disco" go to The Waterfront (on ...

LIFE is a rollercoaster you just have to ride it

Advantages: Wicked ride
Disadvantages: Long queue

PEPSI MAX - BLACKPOOL PLEASURE BEACH When it opened in 1994 it was "the" U.K. Rollercoaster, that was made to put all the other coasters far away in the shadow. And it did. Blackpool Pleasure Beach gave european amusent park visitors an attraction that opened a new dimension of size of what a rollercoaster can be. And today almost 7 years later, it is still one of the worlds fastest and highest rollercoasters. It holds the record for Europe and ...
...words, but the arriving at Blackpool Pleasure Beach and standing in front of that monster was one of my greatest moments in my coaster enthusiasm. Here it was now, the legendary Pespi Max Big One. After that we went of course into the park and organised the wristbands (which are actually very expensive, but the best solution in May because the park is not filled up with to much people and there are hardly any waiting) and headed for the coasters. ...

Excellent place for a hen weekend

Advantages: Excellent fun, loads of pubs
Disadvantages: Looks a bit tatty in places

I've been to Blackpool a few times and have always had a good laugh, but none more so than when we went for my friend's hen weekend last year. It was the best girls weekend. We went on the Saturday morning, got there for lunchtime, checked into the hotel (the Belmont Hotel I think) and then headed straight for the Pleasure Beach. After an hour or so of being thrown about on rides, a few of the girls decided to go into the Haunted House at the entrance ...
...it looked too scary) sat in the bar, where the exit to the Haunted House was. We were so glad we'd not been in, as everyone came out looking terrified! After a bag of chips, we went back to the hotel to get ready for our night out. We set off into town about 7, after a couple of drinks in the hotel bar to start the night off, and hit a pub on the way called the Foxhall. It was a bit seedy in there, with "entertainment" on stage, such as couples ...

My Home Town Blackpool.

Advantages: Lots to do, places to go, never bored.
Disadvantages: Littered streets, can be crowdy and noisy.

...where do I begin? Blackpool has so many stories to tell and despite what may come to mind when you think of Blackpool it does hold lots of History and dates back to as far as Victorian times if not earlier. We live outside the Town centre and I wouldn't really advise moving or living in the main centre of Blackpool myself as it can be noisy and attract vadalism as well as other crime. As so can all Towns and Cities not just Blackpool. Whilst visiting ...

This Hotel caters directly for single parents, families, Grandparents with kids, ladies nights such as, Hen parties and Corporate Business events. It is a respectable ...

A perverts destination?

Advantages: Brash & cheerful; lots to do (if you have the money)
Disadvantages: not for the easily offended; fairground rides busy and expensive; noisey;

...half-term, I recoiled in horror. Blackpool isn't my idea of an ideal destination for a pleasant day out. Unfortunately, the kids heard the suggestion and, because they had never been, jumped at the chance. So we set off up the A59 - first making sure to give the kids a big map so we wouldn't be bombarded with "Are we nearly there yet?" every half-mile. Actually, this is a great tip for other parents. We have done this since they were just about able ...
...the Motorway. The M6 services Blackpool - you leave it at a busy junction to join the M55 to Blackpool. As the M6 is so busy anyway, there are often hold-ups going this way. The road we went in on took us past two extremely large car-parks and we chose the second one - simply because it was the football ground's carpark and we thought it would be easy to remember that when the time came to try to find our car. When we parked there were lots and lots ...

A tad tacky but I still love it

Advantages: very cheap, novelties such as trams, pleasure beach, illuminations, blackpool tower, all those shows (cringe)
Disadvantages: it is a tad tacky (but good fun)

Think of Blackpool and think of things such as BlackpoolPleasure Beach, the smell of chips, rain and grey sea and how incredibly cheap it is. It is a very tacky place really, and I would only recommend you go for a day trip so that you can go, go on some of the rides in the Pleasure Beach, see the illuminations, summate the place and then leave again. You dont need much of a budget. The Pleasure Beach, the Illuminations, Blackpool tower, the trams ...

Disadvantages: It is loud, loutish and tacky which may be off putting to some

I was in Blackpool over the weekend - a friend of mine is dropping from the spinster shelf and getting herself married (why is it since l have turned 27 that l have constantly been buying wedding presents?) so as with tradition we had to have a hen night/weekend. Britain's No 1 Holiday Spot

Advantages: There is lots to do and see
Disadvantages: British weather can spoil some out door activities

BLACKPOOL is Britain's number one holiday spot and no wonder!! Beautiful Blackpool

Advantages: Good fun for everyone no matter what you look for in a holiday
Disadvantages: The British weather!

I have visited Blackpool with my parents and grand parents and on my own as an adult and I still want to keep going back for more. Things have certainly changed there since my childhood visits but the sheer spirit of the place is still the same. Blackpool has everything for everyone. If you like a quieter time, you can find many lodging places on the North shore. This should keep you away from the noisy younger crowd but still within easy reach ...

Shopping is excellent and it is not hard to find bargains no matter what you are looking for. The beach, for the most ...
