Advantages: Fast, lots to do and see, fun and great walking Disadvantages: Tiring, a bit dirty and costly if you aren't careful
When we go to Blackpool we know what we are letting ourselves in for. We go for the fun fair (especially when we can get the buy one get one free set of tickets via national newspapers), the walking along the sea front (and crashing seas if lucky), the arcades, the fish n chips n tea on the sea front and the Imperial Hotel owned by Paramount.
The Imperial is up the quieter North end of the prom and is rated 4 stars and is very, very, very nice indeed. ... ...a bit of luxury!
Blackpool itself has some really nice points - the fun fair, the tower and ballrooms - but it is also full of tatt! Ignore it and you will enjoy the place! Be aware that visitors may be targeted by sellers on the street although that has dropped a lot the last time we went.
The beach is ok although I wouldn't go swimming in the sea there. The walk along the front on a windy day is bracing and it is fun watching the crashing sea ...

Advantages: Finding the spots out of the Tourist Trap Disadvantages: Can't get to town in the season as it is like a rugby scrum
...couple of the ops on Blackpool and they all seem to be from a visitor point of view, so I thought that I would give a resident's side.
I have lived in Blackpool for 8 years, having brought up in another seaside resort, Hastings.
We live about 5 minutes from the town centre away from the front, and the area is full of young families.
During the winter months, after November 5th til Easter, the town is quite nice to go into, there aren't the crowds ... ...much tidier, but alot of the attractions are closed.
Most visitors only see the Prom, tower, pleasure beach and the tat, but out of town there are some lovely areas.
Stanley Park is a favourite haunt of ours, with a playground, sports centre, all weather pitches, tennis courts (hard and grass), crazy golf, trampolines, gardens, and a skate park. The best feature of the park must be the huge (by my standards) boating lake, with plenty of ducks for ...

Advantages: Fun, lots to do....you want to do it again Disadvantages: everything is money, money money
I have been to blackpool over 20 times throughout the years, in the number of years that i have been to blackpool i dont recall it ever changing but i love going there whether its for a weekend or for a week.
Pleasure Beach: Fun packed, adrenaling rushing fairground with something for everyone. The rides range from approx £3-£8, but you can buy wristbands if you plan to spend the whole day wandering around for approx £25 which works out alot cheaper ... ...as when ive been in blackpool the queue has been far too long for me to wait, but you go through water and fire. dont worry you can buy a plastic sheet for a few pounds which will keep you a bit dry. There is so much i could say about the Pleasure beach, and i know you will enjoy the experience that i have.
North, Central and South Pier: The piers are a feautre of blackpool which have amusement stands, bandits for you gamblers and entertainment ...

...I love the rides at Blackpool the ‘Iron Bru Revolution’ which is also good. I can remember the first time I went on it, I was terrified when it went backwards upside down but I enjoyed it immensely and been on it loads since.
It has other good rides like ‘Black hole’ ‘Playstation The Ride’ now this is a top ride and definitely not for the faint hearted, ‘Big Dipper’ and many more. They have some good restaurants like the ‘Beach Restaurant’ and ‘White Tower Restaurant’. But beware the prices can be quite high, so if you go for a day then take your own food and have a picnic on the beach. Obviously in the summer not in the winter.

Advantages: More to do if you know. Disadvantages: As with any pluses there are negatives`
Blackpool is one of those places that you think you know but what many people do not know is that there are plenty of free things to do but first the paid things.
Hotels This is the only town other than las vegas that house its own population in its own hotels. If you want a beach view you will find hundreds along the front from st annes through to fleetwood you will find these faily expensive. So I would suggest you try coming off the front and ... ...Blackpool is choc full of chip shops, burger bars and other fast food outlets. These are ok if there is nowhere else but there is. Now the locals will not like this but if you can get away from the front there are better tasting and you will pay the sorts of prices you pay at home. Jusy a couple of examples are on topping st lots of restuarants here from italian to french. For chippys try these, The cottage on newhouse road, Yorkshire house chip shop ...

Advantages: Luxuary hotel Disadvantages: a little pricey!
I recentley visited Blackpool with my partner for a weekend and it was an experience that I will never forget. The first night we spent in a B&B which made Fawlty Towers look like the Savoy! However it was cheap and cheerful only £13 each and we got what we payed for. If your looking for a cheap get away B&B's are your best bet but be sure to inspect the room before you put any money down, some can be quite grotty.
We ended up booking in to The ... ...is the ideal hotel!
Blackpool as a whole is a great place to stay for a short break. We went from Friday to Sunday. The whole of Saturday was taken up with preparations for my graduation ball but on the friday we explored Blackpool. We did the typical touristy thing (No, we didn't buy a silly wig and walk down the front singing footy chants although there was plenty of that going on!) we visited the pleasure beach. I was too much of a wimp to go ...

Advantages: the road out of Blackpool Disadvantages: Everything
Today I visited Balckpool. I was horrified. Never have I seen such a filthy, dirty, smelly place! The people (tourists?) all seem very down in the mouth and seemingly dealt a cruel blow by life. The place is depressing and Black. Maybe that is why it is called Blackpool. I was there for 45 minutes, searching for a Burger King or a Macdonalds, on route to somewhere else (thankfully!). I have visited many places throughout the world, some are classed ...

Advantages: Friendly and well worth a visit Disadvantages: weather, amount of money spent
...most people who come to Blackpool know the main attractions to visit. But I will try and think of places to go that can help you save a bit of money as well (ooohhh and it's Sunday as well - not a brilliant day for my brain lol)
Some of the best places to go that I feel are value for money are as follows:
Sandcastle Waterworld - This is a great place to take the kids even when the rain is pouring (as it usually is here) They have a sub tropical ... ...of magic and illusion
BLACKPOOL TOWER
This is another favourite. It cost £12 per person to get in but again I say you should spend the whole day in there. They have Family tickets available and various concession for 1 adult and 2 children so well worth looking at that. They have various shops as well as the Ballroom for the adults to visit and a brilliant circus for the kids.
Why not go up to the top and see if you are brave enough to stand on ...

...i have visited and leave Blackpool out, especialy as i am born and bred there, that right im Sandgrown. Lived here all my life and worked in the town centre a huge part of it as well, so what are people letting themselves in for when they come here.
Well if you are bringing the kids then there is so much to do its untrue, but you will need a lot of money. We have got the waterworls sandcastle that is great for a full day, the kids will love it and ... ...will set you back about£40.00 with a family of four with a few drinks thrown in.
We also have things such as Tusauds Waxworks, The Tower, The Sea Life Centre and we havnt mentioned The Pleasure Beach yet, but as mentioned, are quite pricey.
If you are thinking about comming here and going to visit the pleasure beach, you are best going on line and purchasing a wrist band which range from £15.00 to £25.00 and allow you to use certain rides more ...

Well having lived in Blackpool now for three years, I have of coarse been to all the clubs on offer. ...can 75% of people vote Blackpool as our top resort.
I dont know who gives-out the top resort of the year awards...but i can tell you one thing...someone,somewhere must be tampering with the results!.
I have visited Blackpool on numerous occasions...on business...on holiday...on a whim!, but i have failed to find anything (other than the tower structure) either attractive or facinating. Blacpool is the pits!. I dont include the people in this remark...just ... ...poluted... after recently hearing tha Blackpool had cleaned up its act...i visited once more. But nothing had changed. There was still broken glass,bottles,cans....and worse of all waste to be found on the sands.
This is just not good enough!. Blackpools borough council is making a fortune in overcharging for public facilities and for licences for seafront vendors...but where is the cash going?. It certainly is'nt being spent on public facilities ...

We decided to go here for a break with husbands parents, the weather was excellent and the place was very enjoyable. We went up to the pier and seen Chubby Brown Live, they have a wide range of live shows, they have two pier on both ends of blackpool. I usually go to Blackpool at least once a year.
Blackpool is on the north west coast of england. from where i live it takes about 2 to 2 and a half hours to get there.
Everytime i go to Blackpool it's always windy and cold, with the sea splashing high on to the promenade.
At Blackpool there are trams which run regularly on the sea front. Everytime you cross where they are they beep their horns at you.

Advantages: 14 world-class rollercoasters, tower, shops, 3 piers, great fun, great atmosphere Disadvantages: SOME areas a little tacky
Yes, I know Blackpool has its tackey AREAS, but it is not ALL tacky. There are many much calmer, less commercial parts, as well as the more famous "tacky" areas. The Pleasure Beach is superb, and just keeps on getting better year after year. Advantages: Plenty to do and see Disadvantages: Crowded at times
I always think of Blackpool as the typical holiday resort. I went there as a child and loved it and I love it as much as an adult. There really this something for everyone. There are trills to be had at the huge pleasure beach, the excitement of a trip up the famous tower,or a brisk walk along the seemingly never ending pier. Of course you really have to take a tram ride along the busy sea front. Traditional seaside fun is all around, from sticks ...
