Advantages: Entertainment Galore Disadvantages: Can be a bit boisterous at times
Blackpool is really the entertainment capital of the North, with the Golden Mile and its hundreds of arcades and fun palaces, the Blackpool Tower, its miles of golden beaches where you can catch a donkey ride at a cheap price, great for the little ones.
In recent years the club life has also picked up, resulting in the trendy twenties set becoming more prevailent at the weekends and of an evening.
It's practically impossible not to get a room for ... ...in the numerous B&B's that are mostly located close to the centre's of attraction. A fun place to spend a day or weekend, but personally I find it all a bit too much excitement, so wouldn't like to live there, unless it was in an out of the way area. ...

...see were abysmal. Sorry but I just cannot understand the attraction. The best thing I did was to catch a tram away from it all and when I got there it was not much better.
Sorry Blackpool you seem to still be in the 1950's but very much dirtier. ...

Advantages: Suits all ages Disadvantages: Busy holiday no time to relax
Blackpool is a great holiday destination, it would suit all ages as there is so much to do, there is three piers which offer family bars, which are expensive, cafes are also expensive and amusements for kids, there is plenty to do indoors and out, you have the Waxworks which is absolutely fantastic and very reasonably priced. There is loads of amusement arcades and sea world again very reasonably priced they charge about £25 for a family of five, ... ...The Blackpool Tower is amazing, again they do a family ticket which costs £54 for five, in here is the circus, there is a family bar, Jungle Jims and and another sea life adventure and also shops, you can also take a ride to the top of the Tower , the view over Blackpool is amazing , all this for one price and you can go in and out of the Tower as many times in the day as you want.
The pleasure beach is good for older kids it is packed with amusements ...

...never intended to go to Blackpool but after working in manchester for a number of years I was persuaded befor the children were too old.
Was I disappointed? You bet! I never went because the seaside postcard image had been enough to put me off and what little I had seen in the press had done nothing to earn my interest. However, the real thing was something quite different......it was considerably worse than I imagined.

...rivalry between to two towns. Blackpool is without doubt the biggest dump in the UK. It smells awful, there is horse muck all over the prom, the beach is dirty and no one in their right mind would swim in the sea as North west water pump it full of sewage. during the day the front is packed with families all eating greasy burgers and chips and wearing ridiculous hats etc that they have paid a fortune for. At night it is full of drunks in foot ball ... ...But Blackpool isn't all bad, the Illuminations are great and extend the holiday seaon beyond summer time, the accommodation is cheap, although it can also be of poor quality. The Pleasure Beach is great fun if you like rides and aren't scared to shell out a substaintial amount of cash to ride on them.
Overall, it's a good place for one day if you are on a stag or hen party but don't forget your wallet. ...

Blackpool is just the best holiday destination EVER! There is so much to do and if you wanted to do it all you’d need to spend a good few weeks there. There are too many highlights to mention but I would say that the Pleasure Beach and the Tower stand out to me. The Big One at the Pleasure Beach is the rollercoaster ride and it will scare you to death, there are so many other good rides too. The Tower meanwhile is full of attractions at the bottom ... ...more luxurious hotels. The only down side that you can get with Blackpool is the amount of litter that is around due to the number of people. This is especially evident in the summer months when young people descend on Blackpool and go drinking all day and night. ...

Blackpool is a wonderful place. between blackpool pleasure beach and the tower you certainly have a lot to enjoy. during the day you can visit the world famous Blackpool Pleasure Beach with more than 20 spectacular rides. you could also visit Blackpools Famous Tower or just relax on the beach. Blackpool has a lively and entertaining scene for the gay community. The main street where you can find alot of the pubs is Talbot Road, this is located in front of the North Pier and extends inland towards the train station. There are a variety of day and night spots for all tastes, including quiet bars where you can have a relaxing drink, to cabaret bars where you are entertained by drag artists and strippers.
The town of Blackpool seems very ... ...a travel card.
Most places are accessible to people with mobility problems.
Blackpool property is incredibly cheap in comparison to other UK locations. If you have a dream to own your very own hotel by the sea, then in Blackpool this dream can easily become a reality. ...

Advantages: NONE TO SPEAK OF Disadvantages: CHEAP AND TACKY
If you don't know Blackpool that well and are heading for a night out you are likely to need some help!! There are so many dodgy pubs and clubs about, places that seem to attract trouble and then there are the nicer bars - although they are few and far between!!! I would advise you to steer clear of places such as 'The Down Town Bar', 'The Victoria' and 'The Station' they tend to be the places where drunken men pick fights and try to start trouble. ... ...carpet when you go in - is this a ploy to keep you in there you might ask?? The better bars you should be heading for are 'Gillespies' and 'O'Neills' - they are nicely kitted out with wooden floors and old style decor. These pubs attract the younger (20 ish upwards)more tasteful crowd who are out for a good time - not trouble. Unfortunately, these are the only 2 pubs I would reccommend to people - whilst in comparison the list of places to avoid ...

I recently went to Blackpool with my Two children, for a couple of days.
It is a good place for children however it becomes pricey as they want to go on everything and buy all they see!!
The pier goes on forever, and is full of arcades and shops selling the things that kids cant resist!!
The pleasure beach is also pricey, you pay whatever for a book of vouchers then they can use 1 per ride, but it still works out at quite a lot.

we took our daughters to the sea life centre in blackpool and thought it was a good day out,although for a family ticket it cost us 40 pound which we thought was a bit steep as under 2's were free anyway.So i don't think we will be venturing there again for a while ...

The Blackpool trams are a major tourist attraction in the town as well as a very practical way of getting around. The trams travel along the promenade, taking visitors between all the piers and the Pleasure Beach theme park, as well as many other attractions along the way. There are tram stops at regular intervals all the way along the sea front so it is easy and very convenient to use. Trams come along every few minutes so there is never long to ... ...tram lines continue right up to Fleetwood, which is about a 45 minute journey from the centre of Blackpool. If you are travelling to Fleetwood, or are going to use the trams on a few occasions during a day, then it is worth buying a ticket for all day travelling. These are about £3 each for adults. I visit Blackpool with my mates quite regularly.
The first thing you will notice when you arrive in Blackpool is the good atmosphere, the second thing you will notice is everyone is after your money. As you walk along the front, you are constantly hassled by sales people inviting you to bars and events.
Blackpool has a huge range of attractions, but apart from the dirty beach and the illuminations, they are very expensive. For example, It costs ... ...Pleasure Beach. It can cost up to £8 per head to visit Tower World.
Accomodation is easy to get and starts from as little as £10 per night even at peak season. Night life is absolutely excellent, bars, fun pubs and clubs everywhere. The only problem is it's gets quite rowdy, I have seen trouble a few times but have always managed to avoid it myself.
There are lots of family attractions, but I don't think it's a great place for families at night.

I really find that blackpool is one of the few places in the UK what can create that felling of night life like you get abroad. Their is loads of cheap acomodation to stay in which makes it a very easy place to take a flying visit to for a weekend of fun. One of the disadvantages is the cost you will need some serious money if you go for just a weekend the clubs and bars are very expensive. I went to Blackpool This year with my boyfriend and a few mates, we stayed in a bed and breakfast just near the theme park.
The place we stayed was really great, they cooked the best breakfast and the atmosphere was brilliant. They made us feel so welcome and i definately would go back their again. I thought that it was a good deal we only paid £30 each for 2 nights and you got your bed and a full english breakfast. Plus use of the pool table and ... ...have much chance to explore blackpool that much but i will be going bcak again and i hope we can get in at the same place we stayed last time.
The only thing really about the place we stayed is that their wasnt really a parking facility and if we had a car we would have had to park it on the road which i dint think was very good. So we just got the train their and back. It cost us about £15 weekend return. In total i think we probably spent about ...
