Advantages: touching story Disadvantages: boring in the begining
Everyone told me it's a great story before I went.
In the begining I found it quite boring and not impressed with the music. We sat in fron of the stage and could see the band right in front of us. I could see the players evry clearly. The costumes are not as good as I expected. Basically, it's more like a story show rather than a musical show. Maybe I expected too much after "The Phantom" and "Cats". Anyway, the story got more exciting and interesting ...

Advantages: Amazing emotional musical, Love every minute! Disadvantages: Price - but well worth every penny when you see it!
...my bf that had seen Blood Brothers no less than 3 times that we should definately go (id never seen a musical in the west end before!) - after seeing it, I can't get enough of the songs and the memories! Would definately recommend to anyone :) and would love to go again!
Well.... after we struggled to get tickets for ages for less than the 'sold out' internet sites were offering and emailing endless sites which weren't particularly helpful in getting ... ...singers (especially the narrator)!
Blood Brothers was written by Willey Russell who set the musical in Liverpool telling the story of two twins, Mickey and Eddie, and the families they grew up with after being separated. Both lead opposite lives but become 'blood brothers' when they meet, not knowing the truth. Their friendship lasts and develops even though they are banned, by both mothers, from seeing each other.... The familes separate after ...

Quick review of Blood Brothers / Phoenix Theatre (London)
I went to see Blood Brothers 20 years ago and then took my son for his 13th Birthday in April to see the show. Words cannot express how fantastic the show was. Linda Nolan delivered a superb performance, absolutely amazing, great voice and all the emotion she put in seemed real. Mickey and Eddie were briliant. The whole cast gave a flawless production. It left me completely stunned at the end, I could not stop clapping!! This show has to go on... Michelle, Beaconsfield. ...

I adore this show; as a theatre arts teacher, I know all the tricks of the trade, but this one gets me every time! I love its gutsy, no-nonsense tone, the heartwarming Northern humour, and the fact that it never fails to make me cry (with laughter and sadness) despite the fact that I've seen the production 6 times. OK, so the "moral" might seem preachy or predictable to some - it's a "sign of the times" that people are at the mercy of market forces, ... ...but this is above all a show about humanity. Two brothers separated at birth, brought up in very different environments, unwittingly become best friends, and their wealth and education (or lack of) lead to many opportuntities and problems as they grow up. Its take on childhood is fantastic - it doesn't shy away from the reality, yet the softer moments are simply heartbreaking! Bill Kenwright obviously cares enough about the production's integrity ...

Advantages: A Reality musical that could take place anywhere in uk in real life Disadvantages: Portrays the not so nice sides of real life today
I first heard of some of the musical numbers many years ago & wished that perhaps one day I might be lucky enough to see it when it came on tour.
In February 2005 I was taken to see a "That's Entertainment show" at Manchester's Bridgewater Hall in which several of the "Blood Brothers" songs were featured & it made me even more determined to see it one day.
That particular wonderful wish was granted when a close friend accompained me to see it at ... ...as good as I had hoped it would be but with an added deep sense of realism that you feel more & more during the musical, more especially if you live up here in the North. It has you on a deep emotional rollercoaster from the opening sequence right through until the griping conclusion.
For me it could be any family in the poorer parts of the uk with the ups & downs of their lives & therefore would I feel, appeal to most people.
I would highly reccomend ...
