...Well, look no further than Brides les Bains. Pronounced "bhreed-la-baahn", this small village in the Savoy region of France is the perfect place to unwind. In winter, it's close to Meribel and the vast area of snow known as the "Trois Vallees". Meribel itself is set up for English tourists and therefore lacks the French charm that Brides offers, which is only a gondola (AKA bubble, telecabine, chairlift thingy)-ride away. In summer, Brides is a popular French health resort without the expensive price tag.
