shopping with a difference!

Advantages: many quirky shops and places to eat and drink
Disadvantages: quite expensive, parking is a problem

...recently spent a day in Brighton after visiting relatives who live down that way. The 17th century lanes were a real experience. Located slightly back from the seafront, the lanes are the oldest area in Brighton and Hove and used to be a medieval fishing village. Today, the narrow lanes are made up of many quirky little shops, selling antiques, jewellery and designer labels. There are many great shops just waiting to be discovered and numerous places ...
...anybody who has been to Brighton before will know, parking is a real problem. We parked by the seafront on the road which leads to the marina. Here you can park for as long as you want and it won't cost you an arm and a leg, unlike many of the car parks in the town centre. ...

Funky Streets of Brighton are a must

Advantages: Only one hour from London, great vibes, good bargains
Disadvantages: None!! Lots of fun for everyone..

The Lanes of Brighton are one of the best places in England for the coolest gear and best vibes. If you arrive via train from London, the Lanes are just down Queen Street towards the beach, and to the left. There are stores to cater to every taste, including mens and womens clothes, jewellrey, sunglasses, belts, funky art / craft places, bead shops and much much more... the selection is huge, and the ideas are much more exciting than the high street ...
...is the Brighton Bead Shop (Sydney St). It has a wonderful range of all beads, and includes all the materials you need to make you own designs, starter kits for beginners, helpful and informative staff and all at really good prices. I head straight there as soon as get into Brighton. In addition to all the cool shops, there is a number of pubs and cafes scattered throughout the Lanes that will cater to all tastes. Definately recommend this site ...

Brighton Lanes

Advantages: Great if your looking for something different
Disadvantages: None

We decided to fit Brighton into our plans of spending a week travelling from Scotland down the east coast and back up the west of England, so Brighton seemed like a good place to visit for a couple of days since we have a friend who has moved there. Our Friend took us to Brighton Lanes and we were surprised at how quaint it is. It must be very old as it almost makes you feel like you have gone back in time! The lanes lead around the town centre ...
...hours browsing their wares. Although we could have spent longer. It is an ideal place for gifts as you are sure to purchase something out of the ordinary. We were very impressed with Brighton and the lanes and intend to fly down next time to investigate further!! ...

The Brighton Lanes ROCK.

Advantages: Too many...London by the sea...cosmopolitan, diverse, shopping! Food!
Disadvantages: Can be dirty - very busy in summer with exchange students under your feet.

Having lived in Brighton for several years I can honestly say I would rather walk around the lanes on a day off work than anywhere else in the world - its just fabulous :D The small winding allys are a real curiosity shop extravaganza - jewellery shops, gifts, clothing, shoes, restaurants, dog parlours, hand made chocolates, bespoke perfumes - you name it - its amazing! Every time I have moved away and returned to Brighton something has changed and ...

Shopping at Elephant Furnishings

Advantages: Funky, individual, prices to suit all pockets
Disadvantages: Parking is terrible

We had decided on a 3 seater leather sofa and some accessories. My 3 year old daughter Hannah had come with me. The store manager, Charlotte Waring, very kindly gave Hannah some soft toys to keep her amused while I signed the paperwork. Everything is run very efficiently here and the sofa would be delivered 3 weeks hence. Well, you guessed it, the sofa didn't arrive on the allocated date. Miss Waring apologised profusely and three days later, we ...
