Bristol Travelodge

Advantages: Clean - good price - very helpful staff.
Disadvantages: No meals.

...the Cribbs Causeway Travelodge at Bristol was our first experience of a Travelodge and we were extremely pleased with the service and our room. Our family of four stayed in the one room where we had plenty of space and very comfortable beds for our one night stay. Before we arrived we had been a bit concerned over traffic noise, as the lodge is next to the M5 motorway, but we were not troubled with traffic noise at all, due the layout of the lodge ...
...tea and coffee making facilities, telephone and an en-suite bathroom with shower. The staff were very friendly and helpful and assisted us with finding our way around the local area. The Travelodge did not provide meals, but there was a suggested list of places in the surrounding area to go to for any meals. Next to the lodge was a Harvester restaurant and across the road there was a Harry Ramsden's Fish and Chip restaurant. The room cost us less ...

Up Up and away..... The Bristol Balloon Fiesta

Advantages: A great time and the music concert is free, It is great for anybody on any budget
Disadvantages: Quite a bit of traffic around so try to get there early for parking nearby or better still leave the car at the park and ride and walk.

Bristol has a great many attractions from the historical SS Great Britain, Clifton Suspension Bridge and Bristol Cathedral to the newer attractions like the @ Bristol complex or the IMAX screen cinema. The attraction I want to talk about is the Bristol Balloon Fiesta at Ashton Court. It occurs every year from Thursday 9th to Sunday 12th August. The first thing that attracts you is the free music concert sponsored by the local radio station GWR ...
...by differend bands and artists (they usually have 1 well known act and a few lesser known acts in amongst the rest) Last year included Louise and Daphne and Celeste to name a couple. In the evening (around 9pm) there is the nightglow and some of the tethered balloons light up in time to the music supplied by GWR. And yes it is free. That is not all!!! There are fairground rides, lots of stalls, beer tents and food stands there is even a helocopter ...

Bristol Nightlife

Advantages: so much to do. loads of totty
Disadvantages: traffic is really bad at rush hour. rent is very expensive

Bristol is one of the largest nights out. there are loads of pubs and clubs to go to and there are sooooo many people about at the moment. Because there are 2 universities and loads of colleges there is a high student population which means loads of talent weather you're male or female. There are loads of drinks promotions and large nights every night of the week. The best club in my view is Cafe Blue which has really good banging house on weekends. ...

My Home

Advantages: Great People, and eating & drinking establishments
Disadvantages: none whatsoever

I have only lived in Bristol for two months of my 15 year life, and I will always consider it my home. For it is just a superb place. Education is good, fine establishments such as: QEH, Pen park, Withywood, and of course, Speedwell School. No wonder Bristolians are such a lively, educated lot. I also love to visit the attractions such as the zoo, explore @ bristol, wildscreen, and IMAX. Also, if you dont like the hustle of the city, it is small ...

Goth me up Landlord

Advantages: Great music, dress informal, be yourself
Disadvantages: Bit "spit and sawdust"!!

...your comprehensive guide to the Bristol Bierkeller. Bristol is famous for many types of music, bands such as Massive Attack, Roni Size and Portishead have all helped to increase the profile of the local music scene. So why are we writing about The Bierkeller............. well read on and find out..... Well now, In order to appreciate the delights of the Bierkeller, you ideally need to partake in its activities on a Friday night, when you can sample ...
...and Korn. You can totally be yourself, and can wear what you like, although the ideal dress is kinda goth. Situated in the centre of Bristol, the club holds many different theme nights ranging from "oompah" night on a Saturday, (however this is pretty crap - but you can dance on the tables and drink steins of beer all night) to eighties night on a Thursday (sometimes Wednesday - although, this is pretty rubbish, and not many people turn up). All ...

Nice town

Advantages: cool, pretty
Disadvantages: hilly

Bristol is an excellent city. It has plenty of open space, history and a superb location. The north of the city rises sharply to high cliffs overlooking the Avon. Geography makes this an attractive place to live with some excellent views. It is also, of course a lively modern city with plenty of activities. Close to the sea, it has an impressive set of docks which are now sanitised for tourists who come to savour the citys seafaring past. Of course, ...

Bristol the city of culture

Advantages: friendly people, lots to do, great night life
Disadvantages: vagrants,parking,vandalism and the Welsh

Bristol is like the jewel in the United Kingdom’s crown. From the bustling markets with the merry japes from the traders jesting with you as you only have a £10 note to purchase a single banana, to the friendly face of the local Constabulary moving you gently on your way when you have celebrated perhaps with too much Pimm’s a colleagues birth date. ‘Trip’ the light fantastic over the newly designed City Centre with it’s ...
...slats and water fountains, what a fabulous combination. If you are very lucky then on an eve you may witness the young of the city parading themselves over this grand design and watch with utter amazement the swiftness of foot, the wonderful local colourful language and with all of this they don’t spill a drop from their overflowing tankards. A joy to behold and it brings a lump to the throat of any true and honest Bristolian. ...

Friendly city

Advantages: Not too big, not too small. Lots to do
Disadvantages: Traffic system can be confusing

Bristol has been my home up until last year when i moved up to nottigham to go to university. Having visited many British cities and towns, bristol is my favourite place. During the day, it has a wonderful array of shops and cafes and pubs to frequent. For those of you that fell they have a 'trendy' edge park street offers a vast selection of clothing styles. Also, of you fell you can put up with the crowded indoor shopping arena, there is 'The ...
...in Europe. At night Bristol can come to life, although the lively atmosphere does not, unlike many cities lead to 'unfriendly' behaviour. Bristol, if you steer clear of some areas outside the centre, is a very safe place to live. For those of you that are visiting for a few days there is the new explore centre with an interesting selection of things to do for adult and child. The Watershed is definatly worth a visit with great cafes and a tranquile ...

The South West's Monster Mall

Advantages: Easy to get too, large choice
Disadvantages: Few specialist stores

The Mall at Cribbs Causeway, is one of the best shopping centres Ive visited. The Mall is easy to get to by car as it is situated on the M5. The Mall has a wide range of shops for both men and women with all the common high street shops including the department stores John Lewis and Marks and Spencers. Another good thing about the Mall is after a hard days shopping there is the food court to sit and have some lunch in one of the many food outlets, ...

the next london?

Advantages: Nightlife and family activity
Disadvantages: local buses

Bristol is the city of England for the next millenium. it has historical presence in the SS Great Britain, the first steel ship, and the Matthew, the ship that discovered America. The renovaed town centre provides easy, safe public access and beauty in the water front. The nightlife is superb with the amount of pubs, clubs and bars; especially on whiteladies road. The newly installed @ Bristol centre provides the city with a centre point for discovery ...
