...the choice of airline – Britannia – as it seemed a very prestigious and professional company to take to the air with. Certainly, Britannia today is a prominent player in the airline industry with annual passenger numbers exceeding eleven million, providing over 100 destinations from eighteen UK airports. Its fleet consists of five Boeing 737-800s, eighteen Boeing 757-200s (in addition to another four being Extended Range versions), six Boeing 767-200ERs ... ...fleet that Britannia can offer such a wide range of destinations from so many different airports within the United Kingdom.
Britannia is based at Luton Airport and now directly employs over 3,100 people. The current airline image is being revitalised and instead of a more ‘traditional’ livery, they are changing all of their fleet to come into line with the Thomson light blue winking logo. Due to this change, the planes now look very stylish in comparison ...

...carrier for our flight was Britannia Airways. Despite the fact that I have only flown 4 or 5 times in my life, I would like to say with confidence that Britannia Airways is the best flying experience I have had (!).
This is really a personal opinion, I will tell you now. I have flown with Britannia several times to Mallorca. I have always enjoyed their service and have never had any problems with them. I thought I'd write a quick review of the experiences I have had with the airline. I have never experienced a late departure with this airline!
We (Mum, Dad, Me + Mate) usually book with Britannia online. This saves a lot of hassle and speeds the whole process up. If you have been there you will know what I mean. Maybe I will write a review on it!
Anyway, booking is simple and friendly and you receive confirmation via email instantly. If you book in advance, you get quite a discount. If you book very late (2 days before) you also get a very good ...

...first time I’d flown with Britannia Airways and thought I’d expect the same sort of cramped leg room you get with other charter airlines; I was wrong. It’s worse!
Booking and Tickets:
Let me start from the beginning. Our flights were booked by James Villa holidays from Birmingham to Malaga as part of our villa holiday. We could have got the flights cheaper, and from East Midlands, with EasyJet but we would have had to pay a surcharge for the privilege. ... ...their other brands) of which Britannia is a part. We had lots of blank pages in ours which I would assumed would have insurance details and such like. They did include a plan of the aircraft and an opportunity to reserve seats or upgrade to premium seating.
I contacted Britannia through their website to ask how much it would cost to upgrade the seats. If it was going to be £80 or so, it would be worth it. The answer came back (2 weeks later) that ...

...that I have flown with Britannia airways more then ten times and I feel they are a great airline. I am currently a member of staff for 'the world of tui' which is the company who own Britannia airways. She then went into the local travel agents and asked them if they had the same flight still available at the same cost.
They checked and yes it was still available. There wasn't even any hidden extra costs.

She was happy with the two seats only, across the middle were about another five seats, plus two more across the other aisle.
It was easier if you needed to go to the loo, having one aisle ...

Advantages: On time, not bad for a holiday airline Disadvantages: Poor food, cramped
Britannia Airways are one of the biggest package holiday airlines in Britain and most of their passengers are customers of Thomson Holidays. We go Thomson most years when off on our summer hols so I’ve used Britannia a several times now. I’ll be honest from the start, Britannia are not a patch on British Airways. But it is unfair to compare the two airlines as Britannia operate on a much tighter budget than British Airways. If you compare the amount ... ...pay for your seat on Britannia I am sure there will be a big difference. What would you prefer – pay an extra £250 for each person and go with BA or just put up with Britannia for a relatively short flight? I think you’d answer the latter.
Food ...

Advantages: Cheap flight, no delays, clean plane Disadvantages: Flight attendents, food was awful, do not have scheduled flights
Flew with Britannia from Gatwick to Orlando a while ago and the memory of the trip still wrangles!
We had an early flight which wasn't a problem. Arrived well in advance of the take off time and had the usual delay with checkin. The checkin staff were gestapo like in their hunt for items not on the "acceptable" list. I presented my tickets, handed over my luggage and started the process of checking in. Now came the fun part. ...I accept entirely that Britannia (which is Thomsons Airline) are no worse than all the other charter airlines but why don't they make the Britannia service the best in the market?

Well Britannia sure don't have any of these. On our outward journey I was sitting on an aisle near the toilets. This meant that my seat actually stuck out a little further than all the others. Advantages: I had a holiday at the other end Disadvantages: I happened to travel with Britannia
The flight was an unbearable four hours to Dalaman (Turkey) and what an awful start and end to what was, otherwise - thankfully - a great holiday. Talk about battery humans! They had far too many of us crammed into seat spaces that were too small for even the smallest of bums (which I don't have, but I suggest even Kate Moss would have been hard pushed to tolerate this!)

I have to say it was probably a case of pressure from the top to fit as many bums onto seats and feed them with cheap food, but is it really worth it if you upset ...

For the first time in 4 years, my partner and I decided to make the long journey across the pond to Florida to see some family.
I am a great believer in bargains and always like to save money where I can so when I found our flights to Florida for only £226.00 return each, I was over the moon!!! All the other prices I had found ranged between £400.00 - £800.00!
