Advantages: Not many Disadvantages: A very average airline
Basically a no thrills no spills airline. There are one or two nice features, like when you board the aircraft you are greeted by a polite air stewardess who gives you a daily national paper. The in-flight entertainment is o.k, although you dont have your own T.V. There is one mounted to the ceiling about every 5 or 6 rows. The headphones are fairly uncomfortable but, if you can stand them there are about 6 music channels to choose from. The main ... ...so you are very cramped. The food is nothing special but is edible. The staff are ok but, don't go out of there way to be extra helpful or polite. This airline is nothing special but it could be worse. When I flew with it the puntuality was excelant, the return flight left 5 minutes early! ...

Advantages: FRIENDLY AIR HOSTESSES Disadvantages: POOR ORGANISATION
when my family and some of our friends went on hoiday to Majorca a couple of months ago,we flew with Britannia. We booked the holiday twelve months in advance also pre-booking our flight tickets. Each person had to pay five pounds extra each to pre-book our flight seats so we would all be sat together. When we arrived at the airport we all received our flight tickets all so we were sitting together but when we got on the plane and sat down we were told ... ...together, because three of the couples including us had children under the age of two we had to split up causing uproar on the plane. They told us only one child was allowed on each row in the middle seats due to there not being enough oxygen masks in case of emergency. They had to uproot people to change seats with us to accomodate with each child we had.I think the organisation was extremely poor for such a big airline, but we were compensated on ...

...came back from Tenerife flying Britannia via Thomson. The airline was very punctual and the staff very friendly and attentive. The flight itself was fine and smooth and included some extra's which other airlines don't have such as; many TV screens, free headsets, free newspapers, good food, reasonably priced drinks etc.. but and it was a big but, leg-room is very limited to the point of being uncomfortable. I am six foot tall and I felt very cramped ...

...comparing charter airlines I think Britannia rank highly. Staff are friendly and the meals are certainly better than thier rivals. They also lead the way in this market in terms of entertainment, to hand out a free audio headset may not seem any great perk but when you consider that most rivals charge for this it is a nice touch and the programmes and / or films shown are good choices with mass market appeal.
The flights I have taken with Britannia ...

Advantages: got us to our destination on time Disadvantages: how long have you got?
My husband, myself and our two children aged 14 and 4 travelled from Birmingham to Sanford, Florida in April. We had been 4 times previously with different airline. We were very happy to find an airline going to Florida from Birmingham as we live in the midlands and so would cut out a lot of hassle by flying from this airport. On the way to florida the plane was on time, the staff were fine, although i wouldn't describe them as friendly. The plane ... ...The flights were quite expensive and then, we had to pay extra to sit together and for meals there and back. Which was a bit of a cheek if you ask me. If we hadn't have noticed when we bought the tickets off the internet we would have had no food for 9-10 hours each way. Not good when you have a 4 year old in tow that could moan for England! Speaking of which, said 4 year old couldn't hardly see the t.v screens, but was compensated by having short ...

Advantages: Fast, efficient and excellent service. Well organised on boarding Disadvantages: If you get a delay, it can be costly :(
...flown with no parents. However Britannia flew us on their Boeing 767 in top style with great service. There was no turbulence and the entertainment service i recieved (360 Service) kept us occupied all the way to Luqa Airport. I have flown with many airlines (British Airways, Air europa, Monarch, Airtours International) and i must say that Britannia were the best. I really do recommend that you fly with this airline because the service is excellent. ...

Advantages: reasonable prices Disadvantages: max pax
Brittania airways have deteriorated in recent years but in comparison to other airlines are still ok. However they are definately 'max pax' rather than space and grace. I refuse to travel on their 767s now. On a 757 the seats are a reasonable width configured 3 -3 (they can't fit another line in) but on a 767 the arrangment is 2 4 2 (even BA only do 2 3 2) and having a son we always end up in one of the seats of 4. The seats are too narrow and I ...

...brother and i flew with Britannia Airways to Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands. The flight left Gatwick about half an hour late which wasn't too bad seeing as it was December and there was bad weather in London. We didn't pay for the in-flight meals which were very expensive, instead we took our own snacks! The seats very uncomfortable and there was not much leg-room and i was glad to get out after 4 hours! Anyway they came around selling headsets ... ...I had a pair of Sony headfones in my bag which fitted so i got to enjoy Caleander Girls in-flight!
So they aren't they best airline in the world but they got us to the sun and back in one piece!
p.s. Beware of the Spanish check-in girl at Gatwick- she wasn't very polite to us! ...

Advantages: All round good service Disadvantages: None
...reason is because flights with Britannia (who are owned by Thomson)are so enjoyable and hassle free. We are greeted as we step on the plane by a cheerful stewardess (sorry, "flight attendant") who hands us a newspaper (comics and colouring books for the kids).In-flight entertainment is actually worth watching (usually something like Men Behaving Badly, Jasper Carrott and Ab Fab), alternatively there's various audio channels (just avoid the easy listening!). ... ...flight becomes part of the holiday. I believe that Britannia started a lot of the things (at least in package flights)we all now take for granted (the in-flight entertainment etc). We've not had a bad flight yet and flown dozens of times with Britannia. Recommended without hesitation. ...

Advantages: None What so Ever Disadvantages: Leg Room and Inefficiency
I have just returned from a holiday in Kenya, not a cheap holiday I might add. The flights where on Britannia. We departed Manchester and stopped a Gatwick where although the stop was for over 2 hours we where not allowed to disembark. The leg room and the seat width were terrible, I am not a big person 5'7" and 9 stone and very uncomfortable. A taller lady was nearly reduced to tears when the people in front tried to recline.
The return journey ... ...the baggage was x-rayed the hand luggage was not. During the flight the crew carried out about for head counts of the passengers and then allowed us to disembark briefly at Gatwick. On reboarding we were informed that they had lost two people and would be carrying out a register. This was followed by all the luggage being unloaded onto the tarmac for us to identify, thus ensuring that that the people who had been misplaced at Gatwick had not left ...

...to Tunisia. I flew by Britannia Airways. The staff were friendly and it was nice to have a free newspaper!! However, tall people like myself will suffer due to lack of space and there is just no room between your seat and the seat in front. I am a vegetarian and I was disgusted to receive a full a english breakfast. I was also annoyed that they didn't give me anything else that was vegetarian. So make sure that you book a vegetarian meal before hand. ...

Advantages: Punctual flights Disadvantages: Food not too good
...time we have flown with Britannia and we all enjoyed a very pleasant flight. The flight departed and arrived on time on both the inward and outward flights. In fact our return flight departed and arrived 20 minutes early, although it was a little rushed getting every passenger on board in time. The children received an inflight magazine on each flight which kept them quiet for a while. The meal on board was not particularly pleasant but was edible. ...

Advantages: Food OK, cheap. Disadvantages: Cramped, cold and rude staff
I flew with Brittania from Birmingham Airport to Gran Canaria.
The flight was fine with good weather. However, the seat space was so cramped I felt like a battery hen. No room to stretch, or even read a book. Everytime the person behind moved, they bashed the back of my seat and by the end of the flight I was about ready to explode.
On the return flight, it was about 3am. The aircraft was absolutely freezing. I asked an air hostess for a blanket ... ...plane and they had already been given out. I nearly had hypothermia after an hour and Birmingham suddenly felt like the warmest place on the planet when we left the plane.
The food was actually OK, but the hostesses on our flight were unhelpful and uncaring.
I wouldn't recommend this airline to anybody, at all.
No entertainment, no heat, no space and no will to live after I left the plane.
Terrible. ...
