I have flown BA many times. I have flown with them on business throughout Europe and on holidays on scheduled flights. They have portrayed themselves as the world’s favourite airline but whenever BA are discussed no-one seems to have a good word for them. If this paradox is not perplexing BA then it should do. How do people judge a good airline? Advantages: Good value, they fly everywhere, friendly Disadvantages: None
British Airways don’t seem to be the most popular of airlines on Ciao and to be truthful I don’t know why. BA provide high quality service, comfort and value for money. Okay that last point will ignite some debate but I have found in general British Airways to be good value for money. When we flew to Geneva we looked at all the airlines at British Airways turned out the cheapest. Swissair the second cheapest. And the supposed budget airline ... ...and when we have compared British Airways to the other competition they have always came out the cheapest.
British Airways service has always been excellent when I have used them, their staff are always very helpful – in the check-in desk and in the air. Though a very small minority of their cabin crew who think British Airways is ran for the benefit of themselves seem to look down upon you for travelling in Economy, they seem to think that ...

Advantages: It didn't crash Disadvantages: A crash would have been less painful
Quality service, spacious seating, ample information and assistance, a friendly atmosphere and that feeling of 'I flew with the right airline'. All of these things, in fact 'any' of these things would have been nice additions to my recent BA flight!
Having had a hectic couple of months at work, I was (of course) looking forward to three weeks in Thailand. But, because of my past experiences, I was actually looking forward to the flight with BA.
... ...Cancun in Mexico and Dubai in the UAE. Both times aboard a Boeing 767, which seem to have stacks of space (important to me as Im 6'2" and pretty big shouldered). The past service has been amazing, fast check in, lots of information to let you know what is going on and the kind of complementary care you feel has fulfilled the ticket price.
I am still dazed and confused about my flights to and from Thailand. Im unsure how any airline, let alone BA, ...

Advantages: Comfartable, and excellent on-board service. Disadvantages: I remember my mother telling me how expensive the flight was!
I travelled on the Birmingham England to Toronto route!. This was a great experience as it was the first time I'd ever been on board a plane!. The food was great, service was good and the on-board entertaiment was good too. The magazines were excellent and the choice to read a foreign newspaper for the first time ever was great too.

I am not a great fan of British Airways, I would say that B.A Stands for Bad Attitude with the dealings I have had with them, but Concorde stood out from the rest.

Advantages: Great flight Disadvantages: The odd bit of confusion
...I were going to fly British Airways to New York in January 1996.
I hate flying but as I looked out the window at the airport I just couldn't help but be impressed by the huge British Airways Boeing 747 that awaited my wife and I. It was just so big compared to the planes that we flew with on a flight to Spain and that huge hump at the top of the plane just set it off.
As we boarded we were given a warm welcome by the flight crew and it was only ... ...your midst that having a British Airways employee. It was a seven hour flight but it was the most enjoyable flight of my life and I have never experienced anything even close to it since. The view was just out of this world and the flight was so smooth that even someone who was afraid of flying loved the experience.
The hospitality and the on flight meal was so tasty and not like that rubbish you get on a trip to Spain. The pilot kept us fully informed ...

Advantages: Good Prices, inflight meal, can be cheaper Disadvantages: can be more expensive, slower plane
I am a frequent traveller from Belfast to Edinburgh where our regional office is and due to expense cutbacks have been told to fly Easyjet. The prices can vary from £20 to £120 dependant on when you are travelling and as Easyjet have bought Go these fares may increase. I have found these flights to be fine for a point to point journey.The real drawback is that if there any problems with an easyjet flight you are literally on your own if the flight ... ...to sort out your own accomodation etc. With that in mind I decided to Check BA fares on the route as I was taking my father to Scotland to see relatives and he is 78 y/o and my disabled Mother was being looked after by friends and I could not risk him and I being stranded. I can only imagine that anyone who has praise for B.A.either works for them and writing good descriptions is part of their job description OR they are 4 foot 6 inches tall and weigh less than 9 stone.
I have just experienced a long haul flight to China and back from Hongkong and I would not wish my experience on anyone. Talk about cramped for space and do not talk about the severe cramp I experienced and which took 4 days to recover from. The food ...

Advantages: They fly on the route I want. Sometimes they are very helpful and pleasant. Disadvantages: They can be late, rude and unhelpful.
The other opinions of BA seem to either praise them as wonderful, or criticize them for being terrible. As always, the truth lies somewhere in the middle.
I fly with BA nearly 60 times a year. This is not out of choice, but because they are the only airline which does my route at a convenient time.
When I fly to destinations where I do have a choice (about another 14 flights each year), then I almost invariably choose a different airline. My favourite ... ...that the flights are late almost 50% of the time. Sometimes by several hours. And usually without the staff at the gate having any idea how long the delay will be.
On the planes, the cabin crew seem to be extremely pleasant and willing to go out of their way to help you half the time, and the other half are rude, surly and seem to wish they didn't need passengers on their plane.
Their prices seem to vary wildly, depending on how and where you book ...

I have now flown with British Airways about 15 times both long and short haul flights, so thought I’d review how I think they are doing.
British Airways fly to most destinations and are one of the world’s largest airlines. I have flown to several destinations in the States, South Africa and numerous countries in Europe. I have on the whole been very satisfied with the service I have received. Before travelling I always do my research on the Internet ... ...direct if possible and again British Airways often offer this.
Like most airlines B.A’s pricing structure is a very complicated one! I have found that if you book early you often pay a lot less. Don’t assume that a fare you are offered in one travel agent will be the same everywhere-it won’t. I once paid £189 for a fare to Washington D.C and a few days later a friend decided to join me and was quoted £50 more for the next seat!

Advantages: Short distance flights are comfortable and pleasant, aircrew are very helpful Disadvantages: boeing 777 is of very poor quality and makes long distance flights very uncomfortable
British Airways are said to be one of the best airlines around but from what I can tell are really nothing special.
I recently flew from London to Tampa airport in America and found that the Ba Boeing 777 was of a very poor quality. The legroom was disgraceful and the seats were extremely uncomfortable. I've never found this before on any Ba aircraft so I hope that I experienced a one off flight.
The strange thing is, however, that when I flew ... ...hell?! I would strongly suggest British Airways research the matter further as in the Daily Telegraph it also mentioned about the long distance flights and how uncomfortable many people found them.
In fairness to Ba the inflight entertainment on board long distance flights is very good, with all the latest movies and entertainment for the children. Also the quality of food is of a respectable standard and the crew on board are kind and helpful to ...

Advantages: To much to mention but one e.g. is free connecting flights. Disadvantages: Ok value for money, not great.
...from Newcastle to orlando with british airways. We had a great experience that has convinced us to fly with them again.
You cannot fly strait from Newcastle to Orlando non stop, so we were provided with free connecting flights to London Heathrow. The air craft was excellent. There were lether seats loads of leg room and free drinks. And we went even in buisness or club class!!! When we got to London we hardly had to wait at all to get our connecting ... ...our hoilday in florida (a british airways holiday).
We were in an excellent hotel right next to everything. We could see sea world from our hotel!!!
We had another great experience on our return filghts, with hardly and wait in between our free connecting flights, which was great since we were exhausted from the time difference!!!
I would definatly reccomend british airways and their holidays to anyone who is looking to go to florida!!! And im ...

Advantages: Helpful and caring Disadvantages: Flights cost slightly more than so other airlines to the US
...at the airport which the British Airways staff were only too happy to help me with. I had recently been involve in a car crash and find walking hard, partically long distances. The airline provided me with wheel chair assistance to and from the air plane. This also included transfers though customs and passport control.

...trip back from NY with British Airways I was lucky enough to receive a upgrade to their new premium Economy service - World Traveller Plus. Nudged in between the new flat business seats (which do look nice and comfy) and the old "World Traveller" at the back of the plane - the "World Traveller Plus" aims to give economy passengers that little bit more.
For a start, the service you get is no different from economy. The food is the same, and you don't ... ...class. You get a water before takeoff, a couple of meals in the air (chicken or beef sir?) and that's about it.
In terms of entertainment, once again you get the same as the standard economy folks. Everyone has a TV's in the back of the seats (which is brilliant) and there is a good range of movies, comedy and the air map, (that shows you just how far you still have to go and that its -50 outside.) The controls in the armrest are a step up from ...

There are a few sure fire ways to get an upgrade from BA, but you need first to understand the way that things work with them. Firstly they, like all airlines oversell if they can on all flights...i.e. if there are say 200 seats on the flight, then they will sell 220 tickets, banking on 10% of the people not showing up, the most common of these are people who have paid for the flexibility of traveling Club or First where they are able to cancel or ... ...of this is that there are generally either seats going spare or double bookings, occasionally in economy. Secondly the main priority of an airline is in running their planes with as many (warm) bodies filling as many seats as possible, so if they need to up-grade economy class passengers to get more on then they will, this is what happens when you occasionally get upgraded out of the blue.
