Advantages: British, and the best. Disadvantages: Not the cheapest.
...used, I really believe that British Airways beats the lot. Their punctuality is unbeatable, and as soon as you step onto the aircraft, you cannot fail to be impressed with the cabin staff who are always well turned out, very curteous, and most helpful.
The standards of cleanliness in the cabins, the toilets, and the food storage areas is usually immaculate. The food served on board is of the very best airline standards, and the supply of beverages ... ...leg room is amongst the best. The cabin staff are always ther to provide any services or imformation you need.
The only point of criticism I can raise relates to the diabolical tail decor; for Heavens sake lets fly the British flag, and be proud of it!!! ...

...hot.
Im British and should be proud of the service on the British national carrier. But IM NOT.I always find KLM the best bet via Amsterdam.I like there service.Funny thing is I cannot complain about delays or lost baggage. They rarely happen. My luggage always turns up which is more than can be said for other airlines(I suggest putting mistletoe up at the check in desk....so you can kiss goodbye to your luggage)

Advantages: Only if you like android announcements Disadvantages: Check in at Gatwick gives you high blood pressure
...a chaotic setup for the British National carrier. You will end up anxiously cueing at security check wondering if you will make it.
The price, and the stress, coupled with the fact that the service is no better than any other airline, makes it one to avoid, Iīm afraid.
The other thing that I find strange with BA on these routes is that the flight always takes a good half hour longer at least. My last flight from Alicante to Gatwick took three and ... ...other carriers. Granted it was very windy, and that was the captainīs excuse, but as it was a late evening flight, I suspect the plane didnīt have a turn around and they were going slowly to save fuel. Mmm, strange and a good green policy, but it seems to happen every time. If they are saving fuel, all to the good, but stop charging horrendously outrageous prices. Is 600 pounds plus return justifyable on such a short flight? I could go to Australia ...

Advantages: none that come to mind Disadvantages: plenty unless you are into pain
British Airways you really need to get your act together. I have just travelled to and from China on a scheduled flight and it was not a pleasant experience. The food was poor and unimaginative and the service on the return journey .....well it was like being on a ghost plane. One had to beg for a glass of water.
But these complaints are nothing compared with the cramped conditions on board. The seats in the rear half of the planes leave something ... ...muscle cramp by the end of the journey that I was strapped up for the next four days and in some considerable pain. Surely animals get better treatment. I did have the temereity to complain at the seat I was given on the return flight and I did fare much better. However, I did feel rather guilty at receiving beneficial treatment. You did not deserve my patronage. ...

Flying on British Airways for the first time was an unbelievably odd experience. I felt so English. Not being a person especially bothered by nationalism, believing that everyone is basically the same underneath, what struck me about the BA experience was how different it was from the other airlines I have flown on. I appreciated scones and clotted cream for just about the first time in my life, and was offered constant cups of tea. Such attention ... ...that authentic touch. It seems to me that this is something common to most national airlines - certainly Air France and Lufthansa reflect their country of origin; and in both cases this is a virtue.
My flight took me from Manchester to Nashville via Heathrow and Chicago, but despite this truly horrific amount of time in the air I was fairly comfortable throughout all the flights; something helped on my flight from Heathrow by the seat-back television ...

...those when it comes to British Airways. As some of you know by now, my husband and I went to Rome for our honeymoon, and as you also know, it was a bit of a disaster (thank goodness we had a brilliant wedding!).
Anyway it was British Airways that we flew with. Maybe there's something to be said in that you only get what you pay for. I feel safer on British Airways as I know that their pilots are amongst the most skilful in the world. As a student hoping to fly their jets, I know exactly how hard it is to qualify as a BA captain. This should reassure those who are worried about airline safety. The service itself on BA is world-class. The have the largest fleet of 747-400 aircraft in the world and are heavily investing in the new 777 aircraft. The new flat beds in business class ... ...The cabin crew are also amongst the best in the world - smiles and efficient, kind service very much the order of the day on the flights I have been on. So I would recommend BA to all travellers from the budget trekkers to the very rich. An excellent all-round service guaranteed ...

I fly British Airways a minimum of eight times a year. Four of those flights leave at 2 a.m. in the morning. Despite this the Cabin Crew are always curteous and helpful even at such an obscene hour. The food isalways served at an appropriate hour closest to the normal meal time. The seating can be a little squashed if you are over 6 foot tall in the economy cabin. I have never ad a punctuality problem in the 6 years I have flown with British airways.

I booked flights with British Airways when there was a ridiculously good offer on flights from Manchester to New York JFK for Ģ252 return. Our party was made up of four adults and we took advantage of the online check-in in order to choose our seats and speed up the process at the airport.

I have flown with BA twice. Once as an "lone infant" on an internal flight and recently on my honeymoon to Mexico.
My only memory on being an eight year old on the flight is that I was well looked after which I hope provides reassurance to parents needing to put a child on their own on a flight.
The quality of service on the long haul flight to Mexico was very good, from checking in to arrival in Mexico. The aircraft itself provide acceptable room, ... ...have been happier. There was a little tv screen in the back of each seat with several films or other channels to watch which made a welcome relief from my memories of being stuck behind a tall person and not seeing the screen in attached to the ceiling of the plane as on other airlines.
Upon finding out it was our honeymoon my husband and I were immediately given a glass of champagne which was a lovely touch and a good start to our honeymoon.

For my job I travel frequently (about once a month) with BA on their domestic routes, and have also travelled to France on holiday with them. The service and quality seems to be very consistent, so this opinion is based on experiences of dozens of flights.
For their short routes, BA generally use a Boeing 737-400 or 737-500, the classic 80s short-haul airliner. The interiors of these tiny aircraft now look very dated, with worn leather seats and ... ...generous leg room, and the 'ye olde' ambience is bearable on these very short flights.
In my travels, I fly from Gatwick to Glasgow, Newcastle and Manchester, and back again, and I've also flown with them to Nice. The Nice trip I booked myself on ba.com, a very easy-to-use and detailed website where if booked early you can grab a real bargain. My return flights to Nice were about GBP 90.00 back in September 2002 - much cheaper than EasyJet!!!

I flew to Barcelona from Heathrow a couple of weeks ago on flight BAxxx. This was by no means the first time I have flown with BA but the experience was so appalling it has left me wondering if I will ever use them again.
My return flight (Friday-Sunday) cost Ģ162 including taxes. I thought this was quite expensive but at time of booking was actually cheaper than Easyjet. Because of BA's current dispute with Gate Gourmet, on checking in at Heathrow ... ...I duly did, then went and sat in the departure lounge. At 7am there had still been no announcement about which gate the 7:25am flight would be leaving from. I enquired at the BA Customer Services desk and was told by the lady behind the desk to "look at the screens". Well, it just so happens they weren't working. When I explained this was why I was asking in the first place so told me she had no information. After waiting for another 90 minutes we ...

British Airways has been created from BOAC in the 1960s and originates from a state owned company in Great Britain. Aeroplanes of the airline used to be remarked by the BA symbol on the backwing that included a crown. This feature has been changed in favour of some modern art paintwork in the 1990s. ...Well in fact just one. British Airways inability to seat families alongside fellow family members in a 777, and the differentiation between First, Business and Cabbage class.
I have just returned to London from Toronto and have experienced BA's inability to organise at its worst. Apparently the computer system cannot recognise surnames and ages when the plane is in a different country - it was fine going out - and therefore the blame has to fall on the UK systems staff. When asked in the UK it is apparently the local staff ...
