Are they worth it
Review of British Airways - BAW by
perryhill
Advantages: New boss sweeping the changes
Disadvantages: Customer Service in my opinion poor
...have a small shareholding in British Airways and I sold out when the stock was around 600p. They are now languishing at around 390 having been as low as 330. So are they worth a punt. Well, I'm not sure. Prima Facie things seem to be improving for the company - Rod Eddington the new chief seems like a man who knows his onions and his past record certainly has more to commend it than his predecessor, Bob Ayling. Moreover the recent announcement of ...

All airlines are not created the same
Review of British Airways - BAW by
bigdoug
Advantages: Good quality and safety records
Disadvantages: none
British Airways has always strived for unparalleled service and safety. And, as far as Concorde is concerned, acheive this. Air France is the only other airline with Concorde but so it may seem a little unfair to say that Air France don't live up to the standard exacted by British Airways but to re-iterated the title to my opinion not all airlines are created the same and though they may all strive to attain the best of service and passenger safety ...

Still Flying the Flag
Review of British Airways - BAW by
sollybear
Advantages: Feel Special and Prosperous
Disadvantages: Older Planes are slightly uncomfortable
I always choose British Airways when flying internally, the reasons why are simple. BA terminals are easy to navigate and provide excellent customer support. Parking is easy and checking in electronically is simple and effective. I like the feeling I get when relaxing preflight in their lounges and Their frequent fliers scheme is affiliated with airmiles so you can really boost your collection. On the plane, the food is always respectable and the ...

Good but needs improving
Review of British Airways - BAW by
bigphil
Advantages:
Disadvantages:
I took a flight with British Airways to California from Gatwick. It was a 10 hour flight so I hoped there would be good entertainment. There was, with a wide range of popular recent films and TV programs to choose from. The seats had plenty of room and were comfortable. The air hostesses were pleasant and always helpful. The greatest let-down was the food . The quality of it was good but the quantity was no where near enough. A main meal and later ...

First Class Service
Review of British Airways - BAW by
becky_uk
Advantages:
Disadvantages:
The best airline that my family and I have flown on - excellent catering, service, entertainment and first-class treatment even in economy. The staff were polite and helpful and were willing to respond to any request with a smile. The personal television sets in each seat with numerous channels plus the radio stations were more than enough to entertain us throughout the long flight and the seats were even comfortable enough to sleep in as there was ...

Erm.....this flying thingy...
Review of British Airways - BAW by
juggy6
Advantages: eh...
Disadvantages: eh..
Not only have I had problems with their website but also whilst actually travelling with them.I have experienced the old chestnut of overbooking which occurs far too regularly for comfort. When you enquire about this problem all we are told is "every airline does it".This is a great help when you are faced with an extensive stay at the airport through no fault of your own.Their cabin staff I feel, in general, are 'snooty' to say the least and should ...

Quite a good airline...
Review of British Airways - BAW by
shezaada
Advantages:
Disadvantages:
...hesitation that I have found British Airways Cabin Crew to be the most helpful and kind.
Being disabled it is a bit difficult, and sitting sown for a good few hours can take its toll, so if I want to go to the toliet, a bit of assistance would not go astray. On all the airlines I went on I found British Airways Cabin crew to be the most helpful; in that they would help me out of the chair, put me onto an aisle chair and take me to the toliet. They ...

BA Business Class rocks!
Review of British Airways - BAW by
raylax
Advantages: friendly stewards, special recliner seat, good TV programmes
Disadvantages: difficult not to disturb others whilst getting out of seat when all seats are reclined at lights out
Loved it! 3500 quid is what it takes to travel business class return to Calcutta these days. So I guess for that kind of money you are going to expect to be treated like royalty...and that was almost the case. Having travelled via economy on Aeroflot and BA previously this was an experience. The stewards always have a smile, even when you accidentally spill a glass of orange juice on to the floor. The timing of flight is superb, and friendliness of ...

Best of British?
Review of British Airways - BAW by
jonyee
Advantages: Good quality
Disadvantages: Not the cheapest
There is sometimes a problem with the smaller airlines that you don't know what you are going to get. BA is one of the national institutions of the country, they may not always get it right and they may be facing financial decline but I am always happy to fly with them.
When booking a flight you should ask the travel agent which flights are generally empty. On a flight to Boston the way out was jam packed but the flight back was virtually empty, ...

Not the world's favourite airline....
Review of British Airways - BAW by
StefE
Advantages: frequency, cover many airports, punctuality
Disadvantages: food is horrible, service is unsatisfactory
...I have to say that British Airways failed to impress on a regular basis.
Firstly I was quite annoyed at the staff's snobby attitude towards the passengers. They really treated them (of course especialle the economy class travellers) as if they had to fall on their knees and thank BA that they were allowed to travel with them. Besides that none of the staff seemed to speak any other language than English, in spite of weraing badges with different ...

A flight of fancy!
Review of British Airways - BAW by
JHPRUSHTON
Advantages: Comfortable,pleasant staff, good lounges
Disadvantages: None to hand
...times and have always used British Airways. They are the best.
The stewardesses have the patience of Jobe. I mean, who could handle all those passengers for a grueling 12 hour flight and come out smiling. Not me.
About 3 hours into the flight, if the passenger isn't asleep, they are already beginning to feel claustrophobic and irritable, especially the kids and the elderly. The service buttons are being pushed relentlessly and they are ever ...
