I have travelled with this airline quite a few times now, although it has only been short flights, ie return trips from Edinburgh to Heathrow, I have enjoyed every moment of it. I like to fly and love staring out of the windows like a big kid. I find the staff very efficient and the option of an isle or window seat is ideal. I usually travel with them through work and the flight is always the best part of the journey. The prices are very good and ...

...to Cyprus and flew with British Midland for the first time. On the outward flight we were delayed by over an hour due to the plane arriving late from Zante, not a problem in itself but I don't think the staff had time to clean it properly inbetween. There were crisp and sweet wrappers in the seat pocket and under the seat in front, and my 6 year old daughter even found a used hot towel dried out and stuffed in between our seats. Last weekend I flew with British Midland to Belfast, being tempted to by a flight promotion they were running, coupled with a further discount for booking over the internet by Credit Card. Ordinarily I have to battle it out by train across london to Stansted,so it was a pleasant change to just be able to pop on a bus to Heathrow. The flight left on time, and I was stunned by the comparison between their planes and those of the low-cost carriers ...

I am a frequent flyer covering a lot of miles with the budget airlines as well as our more established airline networks. I was very impressed by British Midlands Police of offering money back or vouchers for double booked flights. When I travelled with a friend recently we were told at the check in that our flight had been double booked. We were offered some money back for our ticket or vouchers worth £400 - more than the cost of our original flights. We took the vouchers, bought another flight - which was a reasonable price and were abte to use the vouchers to book an additional return trip and have money left to put toward our next flight. Well done BMI. It so refreshing not to have to fight to get your money back/compensation etc which is so often the case with many other airlines. ...

Having travelled with the airline a couple of times i can tell you that the airline has undergone a change over the past year. Food and drink onboard are no longer free, they must be paid for although the upside is that fares have been reduced and it is now possible to get great deals to quite a few european cities. Flew BMI 818/819 Hannover-Heathrow and back, worst experience ever: on line booking failed two times, credit card debiting wrong, 50 minutes late and almost two hours late return flight. What food? You even pay for a cup of coffee. What space? Could not even stand up-right in the middle of the cigar. Lufthansa was much better, but cheaper; even RyanAir did better. NEVER AGAIN.! ...
