The route is serviced by there one and only Tristar aircraft, which has recently transferred from the London services. Having failed to elicit even an acknowledgement from BWIA about our concerns you may find the following of interest. Expect delayed departures: We left Heathrow 7 hours late. Did we get a meal voucher? Yes we did but no one bothered to tell us you could only use it Landside and as we were told to proceed Airside this did not help. BWIA, British West Indian Airways, or commonly referred to as beewee is an airline that flies to the west indian islands about once a week from Heathrow. This airline usually provide low cost flights to the west indies, and if you search for discounted air fares, you'll probably be offered a BWIA flight. BWIA prices are much cheaper than the Major airlines that serve the same destinations, however, in this case you definately do get what you pay ...

i have read that many people do not like bwee, for their lack of time-keeping, their rude staff, their poor food, their poor entertainment, their bad connections, the list goes on and on!! i have now flown bwee from london to guyana, via port of spain, trinidad, 5 times now, and have never experienced anything like the above statements, with the exception of in-flight entertainment. time-keeping.. the logest delay i have had is for 1 hour, at heathrow ...

WOW!!! On the 26th of Sept 04 my husband and I flew to St Lucia from Heathrow! I am a nervous passanger so three weeks before we flew I contacted BWIA via e-mail asking if there was any way I could reserve seating near the front of economy as I am more comfortable there. We flew from Heathrow to Barbdos and back direct with BWIA a while ago for a 2 week holiday. Without being stuck up when we got on the plane it had a bit of a seventies vibe about it and looked in need of some serious updating. We flew from Heathrow to Barbados - everything seemed ok - food not great, they had personal screens but the entertainment didn't work - we didn't mind too much though as we were going for a great holiday. We got to barbados but our bags didn't. We didn't get them for 4 days. BWIA give Barbados BBD$50 per day compensation for each bag for a max of 2 days. This works out at about €20 (UK£13.50) - not much when you are without bags for 4 days. We ...
...this processes takes 3 months - THREE MONTHS. On the way home they cancelled their flight. We were waiting for our hotel pickup when we found out it wouldn't be coming. They put us on a Virgin Atlantic (a proper airline) flight 2 days later. In fairness they did put us up for 2 nights in the hotel we had been staying in - but we had packed and were waiting to leave when we found out that the flight was cancelled. No explaination given. Booked due to the price i was very impressed by the legroom (used to short haul), the entertainment was non existent with only one good radio station that repeated more than once an hour with all others playing calipso or equilly awful music. The tv consisted of one documentary on the islands that crashed and restaed and a film from the 1980's was all that could be watched, at other times a map of where we were which was quite interestedwas shown, ...
...raw and totally unedible(worse than cheap charter flights). On the return flight I chose the beef, though didn't taste either it was actually edible. Delay was one hour each way though we were never told, we were told to wait on the way. On the way back the delay was announced when we meant to be in the air and it was only announced that our flight was being rescheduled. not too bad as I was expecting much worse.
