My wife and I use Brittany Ferries sometimes twice a year so here are a few tips to help the experience work for you. We travel from Plymouth to Roscof mostly we have done the Plymouth to Santander, you can save quite a lot of money by following a few prudent steps, if you are prepared to travel at certain times eg, leaving Plymouth later in the afternoon and on return traveling back from France or Spain in the morning you can get a free cabin, also ... ...Ferries they will give you a discounted price on the ferry which can give you quite a saving on normal prices, also if you are traveling shall we say down south in France or Spain they will give you a free nights hotel stopover on the way down you can choose where you wish to stay, but for the free night you do have to book seven nights accomadation if you book fourteen nights you will also get a free night on your return. Advantages: Good connections to the continent. Disadvantages: Rain stops play.
Brittany Ferries have crossings between the south coast of England, northern France and northern Spain. Crossings go from Portsmouth to France, and from Plymouth to France and Spain. There are regular crossings in the summer owing to the amount of holidaymakers who now all travel abroad, and a less frequent timetable during the winter months. Frace takes around 6 - 8 hours to do, and Spain about 18 - 24. These times are dependant on the weather, ... ...Standard prices apply, but there are offers that take place at various different times throughout the year. Families with young childrem can also be catered for, as do the majority of tourists. Advantages: More areas to spend time Disadvantages: Overbooking and not getting a cabin.
We book a trip on Britanny Ferries to Caen, France via their online web site. We booked a cabin online for each way on the trip. It wasn't until we arrived and boarded the ferry that we found out that they had not booked us for a cabin on the outward trip. The ship was oversold and we ended up sleeping on the floor in a passageway. We weren't the only ones sleeping in the pasageway, as all cabins were sold out. At least 300 people were also sleeping ...
