Advantages: Compact city with good shopping centre.Much less commercial than Prague,it has fewer cultural or historical sights of interest.Several hotels situated on Lake Brno offer good value for money and are only a short train journey into the city centre. Disadvantages: Some distance from other Czech tourist areas.Brno doesnt have the cultural attraction of Prague.

We stayed in a hotel overloking Lake Brno during a period of glorious weather.
For less that £100 per night we had a suite of 2 double rooms, living room two bathrooms and dressing area and two balconies.
Brno lake is a short distance from the city centre and is linked by suburban trainline. The lakeside has several restaurants and bars, mini-golf boat-trips.
Brno centre is mainly pedestrianised and is ... ...As Brno is very much less commercialised than Prague eating out is very much cheaper.Brno has a good range of eating places.
We ate most nights at Brno Lake on a balcony overlooking the lake.
Woth a visit to experience an ordinary as opposed to tourist, focused czech city. ...
