Advantages: A must for Royalists and those interested in architecture, history, antiquities and historic interior design Disadvantages: Tiring, a lot of walking
We visited Buckingham Palace last year during our trip to London. This was part of our plan to show our children their heritage and teach them a little about what it means to ‘be British’.
The first bit of advice I would give is to pre-book your tickets, preferably for around lunchtime. If you plan your day in advance you can ensure you are there for the changing of the horse guard (they don’t do it every day). You can watch the pomp and ceremony ... ...numerous concerts and balls at Buckingham Palace before the death of Prince Albert in 1861. There follows the picture gallery, which is self-explanatory but again your audio gives details of specific paintings and artists. The Ballroom is awesome and if you are lucky enough to be knighted this is where it will happen. You can even survey the sword which will be used to give you your knighthood. You are able to walk right up to the front where the ...

Advantages: Good photo opportunity Disadvantages: not much else to do
Buckingham Palace remains a must on every tourist trail and I believe most people visiting England for the first time go there, not so much as to see it, but, to give the camera an airing. Everyone one wants to be seen with the palace in the backround and next to one of the horseguards. I am not knocking this because it has to be an essential part of sa visit to these shores. Unfortunately, it does stand rather alone at the end of the Mall and it ... ...Since it is one of the sites that takes longer to get there than to see fit it carefully into your plans for the day and make sure your arrangements fit in with the transport available. If you expect to see the Queen do not build up your hopes too high.
Of course you can now visit parts of the palace if you can afford the entrance but I have yet to meet anybody who felt it was good value for money. ...

Advantages: so muvh to see Disadvantages: little time
...closed down. Everyone knows about Buckingham Palace, Big Ben etc, but Oxford Street is just a league of it’s own. It’s shops and buildings are so nice. We get the train down, as it’s very difficult to drive in and out of London especially if you don’t know your way in and out. You need a good few days to see the best of what our capital has to offer. I recommend London if you have never been, there is so much to see. I have ...

Advantages: Lots of pretty artwork Disadvantages: expensive ticket to see the nations palace!
My visit to Buckingham Palace was suprisingly good, there was alot of pictures, sculptures, medals and brilliantly decorated rooms to purrr over!
I was able to get tickets on the door(as it were!) tours are scheduled for every 15mins, and the queue goes really fast.
its opened betwwen 09:30 - 16:30 (with last admission 16:15) every day 31 July - 26 September
I was however sceptical about being asked to buy my ticket with gift aid so that the palace ... ...wasn't cheap(£12), and for a family who are rich enough claiming the tax back, well it just doesn't seem fair!!!
If you have a racksack you'll have to carry it in your hand, unlike woman who can carry handbags on their shoulders! - apparently its a security risk, i'll let you judge this one!
That aside, its a good view, abit long, but the audio guides are really good and just right in detail, if you require more then there are options to feed your ...

i first arrived at buckingham palace early in the morning..just wanted to see the changing of the guard.
