...an 'all you can eat' buffet so that she doesn't need to eat for the rest of her holiday! Buffet Island was the place eventually chosen which is a half hour journey from our home, but well worth the short trip. It is advertised as being one of the largest Chinese buffet restaurants in Staffordshire which surprised me as I wouldn't imagine there would anywhere bigger in the county! The restaurant was huge, with every inch of space carefully planned ... ...restaurant is entirely self-service hot buffet with no option to order from a menu at all. The food counters were well laid-out to ensure that there should be no queuing or bottle-necks forming and, probably because of the sheer number of customers, food was constantly being replenished and everything seemed hot and freshly prepared. Buffet Island is a restaurant that me and my colleagues have spoke about visiting for a long time and never ended up going, its one of those places that when you drive past it, you say to yourself I must go there but never end up going, however we booked a table for 6 for last night, so Buffet Island here we came.
There are several Buffet Island across the country and I do think there is a chain however in discussions, this Buffet Island in Newcastle ... ...As you walk into Buffet Island, it has automatic doors which is quite a nice effect when walking into a restaurant. Directly in fron of you is a relatively big bar area and seating area where you can have pre dinner drinks and chat prior to your meal. The seating area is very modern with leather tub chairs and tables and you are able to look out of the huge glass windows around this particular area. ...many most enjoyable experiences at Buffet Island where we have always found the choice of food on offer simply staggering and the quality mind-blowing. As somebody who has been to China, Hong Kong and Macao and many other South East Asia destinations I would never hesitate to recommend this restaurant.
