...main reason why we chose Butlins was that the Nick Jr live show was visiting and as our nearly 4 year old daughter loves Dora the Explorer, Diego and the Wonder Pets, all from the Nick Jr channel we knew she would love seeing them.
Butlins now only have 3 holiday centres within England, one at Bognor Regis, a second in Skegness and lastly Minehead. Minehead is located on the South West coast of England, about 30 miles off the M5, Junction 25. For ... ...Booking for Butlins is quite easy, you can either, book over the internet and receive a discount or your can book over the phone. I booked over the phone because I used some of my Tesco Club Card vouchers as part payment, and when I priced it up over the internet, we wasn’t offered a discount for that week, so we had nothing to lose. A couple of days after booking, I received through the post, our holiday confirmation including the booking reference ...

...I have always loved Butlins as a child and now as an adult. Last year my partner and I decided to go away on an adult weekend due to the lack of kids ;-) and we hope to go back soon.
Whilst I know that Butlins is made for kids as a teacher I don't really like to go away and be surrounded by them. The adult party weekends (strictly over 18's) was perfect for me and this review will relate mainly to this weekend although I will also put in some experience ... ...really enjoy a weekend at Butlins and for the price I believe it is well worth it. I receive regular leaflets with details and offers and the prices are fab. If you are looking for a low budget, but fun holiday I would definitely recommend Butlins. The area is beautiful and the venue is situated on the beach, there is plenty to do in Somerset I doubt you would need to as there is plenty to do on site. ...

...shower. The facilities at Butlins will please some people more than others. The swimming pool was good fun, and when quiet it was nice to spend time in. The flumes were entertaining, and gave us something to do in the daytime. The bars which we went to were very expensive - around £18 for 4 drinks. However, we overcame this problem by visiting the Tesco's next door and buying some cheaper alcholic drinks to consume in our room. The bars were not ... ...was much better than the Butlins food!
Our overall opinion about the holiday was that it is great if you have the right company - which we did - and if you just want a cheap get away break with a bit of light hearted fun, this is good for you. The fairground rides were all free, so this was a bonus, especially as they were so quiet, with no queues.
If you were expecting something a bit more luxurious, you would be disappointed with Butlins, but ...

Advantages: Cheap (when we went!), friendly & family friendly resort Disadvantages: Not too much entertainment for younger people
...three of my friends visited Butlins Minehead last year. We were looking around and originally were going to stay in Alton Towers for a night and return the next day, when we spotted the three night break, for just £39 each (yes, that was it - £39 for the 3 nights, not per night!) Butlins do not accept bookings on a lot of breaks from all males or females with 4 or more members aged between 18 to 21, or or 8 or more members are aged under 30. This is to help keep the family atmosphere. They do however have special 18 rated breaks for adults only.
We also chose self catering, although dinner, bed and breakfast would only have been an extra 20 or so pounds each, we concluded that we wouldnt be up in time to catch ...

Advantages: So much to do Disadvantages: Hard to find Minehead!
Butlins is a hugely popular and financially increasing company which owns three family orientated holiday parks in the UK. The company, founded by William 'Billy' Butlin has seen thousands of young and old teeter through the gates over the last few decades and long holds the crown as the most popular and successful British holiday centre business in the UK. Now, this is my second review on Butlins, my first being my large review on the Skegness resort ... ...your holiday in the actual Butlins resort. Now, I must start my review with a bit of a grumble. Minehead, whilst being a nice little town is frustratingly hard to find. The surrounding area is mostly greenery, and the council seems to have gotten in a tangle when placing down the road signs. It took us a good quarter of an hour just finding Minehead itself when we were in fact 4 miles away. I suggest you use the AA route planner if you are intending ...

Advantages: Loads for Toddlers and kids to do. Beautiful place. Disadvantages: You get what you pay for.
We went to Butlins Minehead this July for 4 nights.
We stayed in Silver Half Board accomadation whihc means breakfast and dinner are included.
Booking:
Booking was easy.
I booked on-line at www.butlins.co.uk.
It cost a total of £250 for 5 nights half board.
This was for 2 adults and 1 child under 3 years.
I booked early as you get special offers on the website and this holiday was one of them.
First thoughts:
We got there late. Our car broke ... ...the checking in times and didn't actually arrive until 11pm at night!
All you need with a tired 2 year old in the back seat.
We were put in a standard room for the night until our own keys were found then next morning.
I was just so tired by this point we did not argue, any room was better then none.
Standard accomadation is ok if you are on you own but it really is very basic. You have no livingroom and it's a bit like being in a hotel.
The ...

...a fabulous weekend break at butlins in Minehead. Despite the poor weather.. sleet and snow and lots of rain! We found our day non stop :) The children we absolutely shattered every night and we got to spend some time together as a couple too!
There was a range of activities from shows for both adults and children to ten pin bowling (deals available), swimming (total charge ..30p for a locker), the fair (mostly free) and redcoats run clubs (free) ... ...coffee!
We chose Gold accomodation self catering and the appartment was brilliant. It was clean, freshly decorated and had everything you would need for a weekend/ week break. All we had to take was ourselves, food, drink and clothes to wear! The staff were friendly and attentive to our needs. We did eat out in pizza hut which was fabulous but the food in the on site pub was not to our taste. The food looked good and was well priced, the service ...

...see from a mile where butlins was because of the high building a bit like the big top.
THE ENTRANCE
We were meeted and greeted by BILLY BEAR which the children really loved and the red coats showed us where to go and park and gave us a map. (we were gold hehe) which is the more money you pay the better the accomadation.
So we cued up for our keys which didn't take too long because we were gold.
