    Advantages Advantages Great fun for kids...Nice food and plenty of it!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Very noisy, crowded lots of queues and kids everywhere.

    Ive just had a week at Butlins...Now I need a Holiday! My week at Butlins: I have some lovely memories of Butlins Skegness and Clacton as a child, I also enjoyed staying at Butlins Skegness, Minehead, and the Butlins hotel in Brighton and Margate later in life when my children were growing up. Prior to this latest holiday I hadn't been to Butlins for about 15 years. The last time being when my oldest grandson was a toddler…. We found the accommodation very shabby and not very clean (so we never went back again) That is until this year when my mum wanted to go away somewhere in England with us ... more

    ...... well maybe not quite Hi de Hi - the coats are red and not yellow - but walking around the paths outside the old accommodation which we stayed, I was certainly expecting Sue Pollard to come running round the corner at any minute. 24 and never been to Butlins! I'd of course heard tales of what went on there, but it always seemed just a tad tacky to me. My boyfriend and I love to party together, and after struggling from one difficult spell to another in our relationship, we decided to go away for the weekend, and see if we could work out what it was we actually liked about each other ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great fun, lots to do, well themed, brilliant location, very atmospheric

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive on site, get fat from all the drinking and junk food.

    Now, this review of Butlins Minehead, despite it being advertised as a family holiday complex, would probably appeal more to 18year olds and people round that age region, "young adults", due to the nature of my party and our activities. This in itself shows the versatility of the place, it caters for pretty much everyone and a fantastic time can be had by all. I went to Butlins Minehead for 7 nights during July of 2004.     Have just come back from a four day break at Bultins in Minehead we stayed in Gold Accomodation and ate in the Yacht Club. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children (Son 10 years Daughter 6 years). We have visited Butlins every year for the last 6 years and have stayed in all the Accomodations and almost done everything there is to do at Butlins, therefore i thought it was about time to wrtie a good old review about it and let you know how great it is!     We have just returned from a week at Butlins. Myself, my husband and our 2 boys aged 9 & 13. It was the boys choice of holiday and as we hadn't been before we gave it a go. My husband was a little reluctant to say the least, he admits to being a bit of a holiday snob. I used the website butlins.co.uk which was informative and easy to navigate. Booking was straightforward, the week cost us £732, this was in peak school holiday period. Prices vary greatly depending on time of year and type of accomodation chosen.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Don't want to go to bed at night and certainly don't want to come home!

    My family and I started going here in 1992 and went again 2 years later and then virtually every year after that, until 2003! So, we've had plenty of time to try most of the activities and facilities mentioned in this review. In 1992 my family consisted of myself and my husband, my eldest daughter aged 7 and my son aged 4. In 1994 I had another daughter. So, we've had experience of facilities for lots of age groups. As well as the usual weeks, mid-weeks and weekend breaks there are Adult only breaks.     Advantages Advantages Great fun, not too expensive, not too far to stagger back to your room after a boozy night out!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Aimed at kids therefore a regression of age takes place; it could be months before I reintegrate into society!!!

    Last Sunday was your pretty normal (or as normal as it gets in this house anyway!!) day.     Advantages Advantages A quick and convenient short break, lots of fun and plenty for your money.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Self catering is an expensive alternative if you eat on the camp.

    Sometimes, thankfully not too often, life in our house gets a little bit too much to bear. These are the times when we grab for the Butlins brochure, work out how soon we can afford to get away, and then run for it as fast as we can, as soon as we can. The purpose of writing this op is of course to share with you my personal opinion about my holiday and hopefully to give you all the information you might need to decide if this is the type of break that would appeal to you.     For my valentine’s present, my boyfriend decided that he wanted to take me away somewhere nice just the 2 of us. Unfortunately for me his family were all going away for a long weekend and he was expected to be there, so instead of a nice relaxing romantic weekend, we all went to Butlins in Bognor Regis (when I say all of us there was a total of 12 including myself and my daughter).
