Advantages Advantages It gets you from A to B quickly

Disadvantages Disadvantages overcrowding, dirty trains, no guard, CAN be hard to buy a ticket.

C2C is definitely one of the best railway companies, but not quite as good as South West Trains, not everything can be perfect. C2C is run by Nationan Express, between London Fenchurch Street and Southend and Shoeburyness. There are effectivly 3 lines here, mainline from London Fenchurch Street to Shoeburyness, via Basildon. The Tilbury Loop is from Fenchurch Street to Shoebury once again, but this time via Tilbury. For the third time there is a line from Fenchurch Street and again the Shoebury, this time via Grays. HOW EASY IS IT TO BUY TICKET? There are ticket machines at all C2C stations ... more

Advantages Advantages A chance for National Express to shine

Disadvantages Disadvantages A chance for the misery line to return

Can it be true that National Express who run the ill-fated Silverlink services now own c2c. Gordon Brown may have provided more money but will c2c drop to the level of Siverlink or will Silverlink improve? The London Southend line needs a better integration with other rail routes so National Express may show initiative by developing the systems they own and linking them. c2c may benefit from the takeover otherwise the misery line will return and prove an embarrassment for Teddy Taylor and William Hague. Privitisation must go alongside prudent yet dynamic leadership. Let us see how National ... more

    Advantages Advantages Relieve congested terminii

Disadvantages Disadvantages Havoc for tiemetable planners

In order to relieve congestion at he major London Terminii I suggest that with the next stage of franchises there be major changes to The North London Line so that trains from Southend may serve other major cities. Trains could reach Watford, Birmingham and the North West. The new trains offer speed and comfort when they work. Give the trains a chance and let us have have a more integrated rail system. Other train operators sould also use the Southend line thereby encoraging greater mobility. A rail link a Dartford would also be welcome again to reduce pressure. ... more

    Advantages Advantages Reliable, comfortable

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Pricey

OK first of all I will be honest in saying I work for c2c and I wish I would of wrote this review sooner as my opinion has not been altered and I'm not in any way biased and will be upfront about things. I do hope no one thinks I'm saying it for the sake I work for it but this is just an honest opinion of it, and yes, there are still plenty of disadvantages. The first thing about c2c is they are reliable. We've been told that the company has topped the reliablity league for some time now and over 90% of trains are on time. I obviously use them to travel to work and I honestly can say I have ... more

Advantages Advantages On time, good value for money, comfortable

Disadvantages Disadvantages When delayed the trains can be badly delayed

I remember LTS very well, the old misery line. Never on time, HUGE delays, I remember it got so bad people used to open the old slam doors and walk down the platform! I think the whole make-over is brilliant. I use it to go to Fenchurch Street every day and It's always comfortable, good value for money. Firstly they are very reliable. They have topped the PPM league for two months running, always over 90% of trains are on time. There are the odd occasional small delays, but they are always told over the tannoy and they are never usually more than three minutes late. The trains are comfortable ... more

    Advantages Advantages not many

Disadvantages Disadvantages too costly, poor service

I thought I'd get the ball rolling on this one as I have endured c2c both as a commuter and a tourist. We all know that rail services in this country are very poor and I'm afraid to say that c2c is no different. A commuter ticket can cost as much as three thousand pounds per year and that does not necessarily secure a seat. It seems to me that all the new rail companies are interested is presenting a nicely presented service rather than a good service. LTS has now beocme c2c but nothing has changed in terms of service and the new trains do not even work! ... more

Advantages Advantages It goes to the seaside

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Usually unreliable

I have always wanted my own garden as I love gardening and open air and also bird and wildlife watching, and have always wanted to live outside of London for a bit of clean, country air. I live in Barking in the middle of a very large, noisy, dirty council estate, parallel to the A13, in a second floor flat and have done for more years than I care to remember. I got the chance to move a bit further out, Pitsea to be precise, obviously because the further outside London you go, the nicer it gets and decided that this was for me. Unfortunately, the c2c service was causing too many problems with ... more

    Advantages Advantages do not exist

Disadvantages Disadvantages all their services are poor

I am really disappointed by C2C and their poor services and I now wish I had bought my flat somewhere else. The train delays, the cancellations and the very bad customer service cannot be worse. I face inconvenience to and from work on every single day, this has tired me out. I did not go to work two times because of train cancellations and that caused loss of earnings which, of course, did not accept to refund. I have sent a large number of complaint letters to the C2C Customer Service Department and sometimes they responded apologizing and promising to improve the network. I have also ... more

Advantages Advantages Compensation for service disruption 30/10/00

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

Any c2c rail user who had a problem with service on the 30th October 2000 should note that C2c are compensating ticket holders for the poor service on that particular day. Staff at Fenchurch Street were distributing a leaflet called "Customer Compensation Package" today (28/11/00), that contains a form to claim back the following: Annual and Monthly season tickets: 1 day refund (Cheque or season ticket extension) Weekly and Daily tickets: 20% refund (for a 1+ hour delay), or 40% (for a 2+ hour delay) To claim , you need to send the completed form either with the original ticket, or a copy of ... more
