WHERE IS IT?
The resort is in SW Turkey, in region of Fethiye. The town of Fethiye (pronounced fet-ee-ay) is 2 miles away and from Calis you can get the dolmus boat which runs every half hour (9am - midnight) and costs 2.5 Lira (approx £1) per person each way and takes almost half an hour.

The main roads in Calis are shaped like a T, with the top of the T being the beach front. There are hotels and shops along the T and mainly hotels and apartments on the unmade up side roads. Bars and restaurants line the beach front road, which is block paved and pedestrian only.
The resort itself is very flat, but is surrounded by mountains in the distance.

Advantages: Small town, close to other resorts Disadvantages: getting big
...wife and I stayed at Calis Beach in may 2008. Th ehotel was away from the sea front. This made it nice and quiet on a night. Cails itself is a small village. It is all the villas that are getting built around it that makes it a big place. You can walk from the west end of the sea front to the east end in half hour slow walk. The main street running away from the front only takes a few minutes. This street is made up of bars and shops. There is a ... ...up this last couple years, Calis is still fairly cheap. Although Fethiye is cheaper. There are a lot of places to visit from Calis Beach, trips you can book from a stall to ones you book with your rep. Overall, like most Turkish resorts, you will find lots to do and friendly people. On the other hand you will find the odd person that will try to rip you off. Calis Beach is the most relaxed resort in Turkey I have visited, yet still has everything you could possibly want. There are local transport links to Fethiye and the surrounding area right on the door step. We stopped in Caretta Apartments (www.carettaapart.com) which I have to say felt like home from home.
