Cameron Highlands is a highland region located east of Ipoh state. It is 1500m above sea level and has a cool climate, temperatures not rising above 25 degrees and not falling below 12 degrees year-round. I went to Cameron Highlands with my parents on Monday, the 8th. We stayed at Hotel Equatorial, which is one of the best hotels in Cameron. We visited many key attractions, including the strawberry farm, rose gardens, vegetable farms, tea plantations, ... ...Strawberry farms are plenty in Cameron Highlands. Anywhere you go, you are sure to find one. What I will recommend to you will be the one a stone's throw away from Hotel Equatorial. You have to go up a steep slope in order to reach the farm. It's very easy to recognize. Up there, at the farm, you will enjoy Cameron Highland's most famous strawberry juices and other foods related to strawberries. There are various apiaries in Cameron Highlands. Among ...

The Cameron Highlands is a delightful place to visit if you are trying to get away from the hot, sticky and hectic cities.
I visited in June '99 and despite the countryside being a little spoiled by litter ( I saw the rubbish truck sweeping litter into the stream instead of their truck! )it is definetly worth going to.
Because of the higher altitude the temperature is pleasantly cooler and humidity low. In the town kind traders sell delicious satay ...

Advantages: Good accommodation, food, climate (!) Disadvantages: Landslides, dull activities
...at Tanah Rata in the Cameron Highlands, and some of the time it was great, some of the time it wasn't. When we arrived we were really glad that it was cool - an English climate compared to the rest of Malaysia and sweaty KL. Also, the hostel we stayed in was really nice. However, if the weather is bad (which it was), there isn't an awful lot to do. We went on the obligatory tour of all the local sites, and apart from the tea factory they were all ... ...round. Then, because of the rain, we couldn't leave for Pangkor for two days because the only road out of the place was blocked by over 20 landslides. Great. One good thing was the banana leaf curry we had intown, and there was a cheap laundrette. It's also a real pity that the walking trails (supposedly good) aren't maintained or marked. Leeches come out in the rain - we didn't risk it. ...
