Advantages: Free pool table, quality menu, relaxing atmosphere, quality food, mad cook. Disadvantages: A bit loud, giving meat dish instead of vegetarian, mad cook.
*Review edited. Spent a very happy couple of hours here. Bright and breezy atmosphere with white walls and floors, a well-stocked bookshelf, free pool table, poker chips! Quality menu, not the cheapest but not fair for the higher standard of ingredients - organic sausages etc. I would happily go again, just a couple of things that make it fall short of top marks. At the moderately busy time I went it suffered slightly from "swimming pool syndrome", ... ...Plus they are a bit too proud of their albeit good musical taste, the volume of the music is slightly high. We asked for a vegetarian dish amongst our other orders, this was ignored and we were given the meat version. Also, some of us waited ages for our dish and felt the need to remind the cook about our order. He proceeded to say something about how we were freaking him out and that our food was cooking. Advantages: Quiet (in terms of noise), but not dull. Disadvantages: Beer is a little expensive.
Considering how close this pub is to the noisy Queens Road, it is very quiet, even when you are in the beer garden. It one of the only pubs so close to the centre of Brighton where you can have a decent conversation, even on a Friday night. Even though it gets fairly busy, there is no loud music to make conversation difficult.
Personally I like to have a few pints there before hitting the town properly. They do a good pint of Harveys (local bitter) ...

Advantages: good beer selection, smoking area, free pool Disadvantages: only one toilet
Nice clean and airy pub with a good choice of beers and spirits - i was especially pleased they have asahi on tap as you cant get it in many places. Its not that cheap but i suppose about the same as most pubs in town. There is an outdoor patio and a FREE pool table which i think is very good, and the food was really excellent - the barmaid told me the chef used to work at terre a terre, and you can tell. I'd recomend the burger, although my (vegetarian) ...
