Advantages: Excellent facilities and accommodation Disadvantages: A bit pricey
Introduction
Having visited the Center Parcs complex at Whinfell Forest a couple of times over the last 12 months I found the place has a lot to offer especially for those of us with kids. The park itself is set in a large pine forest which includes a variety of both indoor and outdoor activities and all the accommodation.
Location The park is situated on the outskirts of the lake district about 10 miles from Penrith.

CHOOSING A CENTER PARCS
Once we had decided that we would go to a Center Parcs , I went to www.centerparcs.co.uk to have a look at the various places on offer and to request a DVD and brochure. They arrived in only 2 days. There are 4 Center Parcs in England- Whinfell, Sherwood, Elveden and Longleat. After some debate and discussion with friends who have been, we chose Whinfell Forest. Whinfell is ... ...following the link on the Center Parcs website, including choosing the house we wanted. I picked #5 Badger Wood as it looked to be in a central location. I paid a small deposit using my credit card. I could have also used my debit card. The deposit is £75 or 30% of the total cost, whichever is greater. The remainder is due 10 weeks before arrival. Since I had paid by credit card, it was automatically deducted at 10 weeks prior arrival.

...cabin and my fella suggested Center Parcs as he had been a great number of times before and really enjoyed it.
How to Book:-
www.centerparcs.co.uk or call 08705200300
Location:- Oasis Whinfell Forest is located just off the M6 on the A66 and is clearly signposted. Activities:-
Center Parcs has plenty of places of interest and has features for all ages although I did feel that it was partcuarly aimed at families with children as we recevied money off vouchers for our stay but they were only valid for families with children so not much point in use for us.
There is a sports centre that offers a great range of sports suitable for everyone and if you prebook before you get to Center Parcs you ...

There is probably no way I can give justice to this place in less that a thousand words. I'll give it a go.
In one sentence: If you can afford it - go!
Why?
Because there is no where that quite reaches the standards this place hits. Not that I've ever seen. I've been 3 times in 5 years.
Oasis is a 'community' of hundreds of holiday chalets surrounding a central 'hub' of activity. The homes are dotted around a large pine forest punctuated by numerous ... ...in are exhaustive in the extreme and I can't even begin to remember them all, for the full list check http://www.centerparcs.co.uk/villages/whinfell/todo/index.jsp

Advantages: Lots to do in a beautiful setting. Disadvantages: Aimed more at families with young children.
I used to come to Center Parcs Whinfell Forest when I was much younger, and it used to be owned by Oasis, until Center Parcs bought it.
In recent times I've been here twice with my boyfriend as it's cheap and there's lots to do. It is aimed more at families with children, but that didn't stop us having fun!
We stay in the apartments and have a view backing into the forest and they're very nice. The bed's have some sort of posh mattress on them ... ...nice.
So, on with center parcs itself. Inside the big 'dome' known as the village center there are shops and restaurants in one half, and the other half is taken up by the swimming pool, also known as the subtropical swimming paradise! It's huge inside, lots of different pools from wave pools to baby pools with toys, there is 2 spa pools, slow rapids, fast outdoor rapids and near the top is a lane pool. There is also a poolside cafe so you can get ...

== CENTER PARCS ==
I had heard lots of things about Center Parcs and mostly it was everyone saying "its really expensive and you have to pay for everything"... so was always put off by it. So never really thought about it. I use lots of discount codes so when I found a great discount code for Center Parcs I thought I would have a look. So I looked up their website which is easy enough to navigate through and found a location, date and then price ... ...decided to go from Monday to Friday...( just in case it was horrible ..) We booked for first week in the October Holidays. It was brilliant. There a plenty sign posts easy to locate. We arrived at 3pm so had to wait about 15mins to get in. But you are surrounded by trees and squirrels that it wasn't stressful. The booking in is done online before you go so when you drive through what looks like a car wash... they greet you with your name and had ...

Advantages: Loads to Do, Fun for the whole Family Disadvantages: Sports can be expensive
-Introduction-
Center Parcs has so much to offer whether it is the sports or the relaxing pool. Everybody who goes will enjoy there stay. I have been several times to Center Parcs and have booked to go again soon.

Center Parcs is open all year round and if you are going for a relaxing break I would recommend going in the Winter Months as these will be cheaper and it wont make a difference if it is too cold to play outdoor sports, but if you are going for an exiting adventure holiday I would recommend going in the summer months, this will be more expensive but it will be worth it. You get the choices of going for a midweek break (4 nights), Weekend ...

Advantages: lots of activities, child friendly, small site compared with other cp sites Disadvantages: big check in queues, creaky villas, expensive food delivery service
The check in process is aweful on Fridays, it takes us 90 minutes to drive there, and 90mmins to get in at peak times, even off peak we've waited 40 minutes in the queue, on line registration does speed you through but doesn't cut the queues down.
I've stopped here 3 times, the facilities and staff are usually good, some lodges are better than others, the ones on heather glade and badger wood are good in that they're close to the swim dome, but ... ...settling kids down. the stairs and upper floors are particularly bad, and because of the terrace design the neighbours going up or down stairs will have you thinking the kids are up.
My favourite so far was Fell View (low numbers) which are slightly further out, but equi-distant from the swim dome and the sports centre.
Use the online booking service (free) to book some ativities in advance, otherwise you may be dissapointed.
The market is fairly ...

Advantages: Very child-friendly Disadvantages: Could be miserable in the rain
This was our first break since having our first baby so it was fantastic to find somewhere so child-friendly.
Our lodge was a 2-storey, 4 bed in excellent condition and beautifully equipped with the all-important washer/dryer, microwave and dishwasher. One of the 2 bathrooms also had an enormous jacuzzi bath to relax in.
Stair-gates were fitted at the top and bottom of the stairs along with a full size cot and highchair making things easy for us.
... ...with changing mats so you do not have to sit and hold the baby. Baby pools are lovely and warm, indoors and out and fuill of plenty of toys to keep them amused. Family changing rooms equipped with changing tables and mats are also very helpful.
Being a place where cycling is popular, there are trailers and bikes of all sizes so having a baby does not mean you are left out.
Food outlets are also very child-friendly and will warm bottles and give ...

Quick review of Center Parcs Oasis Whinfell, Penrith
Just come back from 2nd visit this year to Center Parcs Whinfell, I love the place and find it very relaxing, however this time around my husband and I found it very busy.
We were there in March and then October and felt they were very different holidays, we do not have children so do usuallly like to have meals out and visit the sauna.
Our accommodation was Lakeside apartments ground floor lake view, next time we will go for 1st floor lake or forest view, as we could not keep out curtains open and enjoy the lake as my husband and I were better viewing by passer-by's.
As for the day pass to the gym don't get me started.... ...

I haven't been to Center Parcs in years and i'd only been to the Sherwood Forest one but this summer my family and I decided to give this one a go. it's set in the north of the lake district so as you can imagine it is a beautiful setting. The accommodation isn't exactly five star luxury but that is not what you expect from this holiday. This is a fast-paced, action packed holiday. The accommodation is fairly basic, the'villas' don't look appealing ... ...and have everything you need. You can pay extra to have the few luxuries such as the towels to be included and have a tv in the bedroom as well as lounge. The outside area of the villa has a little BBQ area and table and chairs which is a nice feature as well as your little bike rack for all your bikes.
The activities you can vary immensly and you can book online before you even arrive so to be sure to g et your things booked!
The activities include:
