Advantages: near the lake district, which is beautiful Disadvantages: not like the other center parcs
...as we have been to Center Parcs 3 times and loved every minute of it. We always joked that if we won the lottery we would spend 3 months there amongst the trees and wildlife. You would need the lottery win, as most people have said before, it is quite expensive but worth it if you like that kind of thing.
What I like about the other Center parcs is the tranquillity, the nature, lots of things to do and especially the beauty treatments. We still agreed that we would make the best of it and went to the center (where all the cafes, bars, pool, activities ect..are). That is when i cried, I know it sounds silly but we can't afford to go on holiday a lot and i had been looking forward to it so much. A ...

Advantages: fun fun fun, relax and do what you want Disadvantages: prices
I have been to Center Parcs approximately 15 times throughout my life, the first time I went I was very little so I can't really remember much about it, the last time I went was about 2 weeks ago and I now take my two children. I have been as a single person, as a couple, as a married women pregnant, and with one child and the last time with two children and every time has been as good as the others. Now I feel it is best when you have a bike to ... ...a bike because of the babies being very small and once because I was 8 months pregnant and scared of falling off!!! It is nice to wander around a look at the wildlife as there are many little lakes housing numerous ducks, fish etc and there are hundreds of very friendly squirrels to feed out the back of your chalet. The last time we went there was four adults and my two children so we had one three bedroom comfort villa, by the time you split the ...

Advantages: Excellent pool, good prices at off-peak Disadvantages: Extra's are expensive, villas need better equipment
...spent a mid-week break at Center Parcs at Longleat and had an excellent time. Partly as we shared a 'hut' with some very good friends and their children but also because of the facilities which are included in the price. We went at one of the cheapest times in the year and found the place not too busy, with 3 children (7,3 & 2) between 4 adults we spent most of our time in the water complex either splashing around in the main pool or hurtling down ... ...of warning the rapids can bite back and i speak as someone who came back with bruises in places i didn't know i had!!!
The accommodation is practical and since we had an executive villa we found it quite comfortable with plenty of space. Having the dishwasher was good but the cooking utensils were insufficient for cooking a meal for 4 adults (the pans did not hold a spaghetti bolognese). As i said we used the pool mainly but we noted that while ...

Advantages: Beautiful location, lots of wildlife, brilliant swimming pool complex Disadvantages: The swimming pool complex is the ONLY thing that is free
I have been to Center Parcs at Elveden Forest twice now and I am booked to go back for a mid-week break in April.
Both times (and again in April) I have gone with my boyfriend. I am 19 and he is 21 and even though Center Parcs is seen as a "family holiday" we always have a brilliant time. The first two times we went (June 2005 and May 2006) we stayed in the Lakeview Hotel. All the rooms are Executive and staying in the hotel seems to be the cheapest ... ...month and works on all Center Parcs Villages!
Center Parcs is a brilliant place to go for a mid-week break but it can get really expensive. The only thing that is free is the sub-tropical swimming complex, everything else is really overpriced.
The swimming complex is amazing though and I am quite happy to go to Center Parcs and do nothing but walk around and go swimming so depending on how much you want to do, it can be affordable. When it comes ...

Advantages: Almost everything on site, lots to do Disadvantages: Expensive, busy at peak times, low flying tornados
I went to Center Parcs Oasis Whinfell in September 2005, the price drop is worth it for the drop of a couple of degrees, and there werent many children around because it was back to school time. I havent been to Center Parcs before so i didn't know what to expect but it was amazing! We stayed in a 2 bedroom forest lodge in the Beechwood area, it was plenty big enough for the three of us and contains everything you need to get started, you can even ... ...low flying RAF tornados overhead.
I would recommend center parcs to anyone, for families it has everything and not just for the little ones, big kids will enjoy it too, it is great for couples too, my advice is book for off peak times to avoid the crowd. ...

Advantages: Plenty to do for all the family. Disadvantages: 250 mile journey from Calais.
Zandvoort has recently been added to centre parcs group along with Port Zeeland. Located on the west coast of the Netherlands. The journey to the site from Calais takes about 3.5 hours and 250 miles. The motorways across France, Belgium and the Netherlands are well marked andhave excellent services. You will have to pay 20-30 cents to use a public loo.
Petrol is about 2/3rds the price you pay in the UK. No tolls. Make sure you have spare car bulbs, ... ...for the journey. Make sure the kids have car games etc to keep them amused.
The chalets at Zandvoort are well equipped, comfortable and clean with an open fire if you wish to use it. Free indoor swimming pool with wave generator and water chute - can get crowded. Bike hire, ten pin bowling and tennis is a little expensive in my opinion. Evening entertainment is average.
Recommend you try the restaurants in town which are only a 5 minute walk away. ...

Advantages: An entire holiday on your doorstep with no cars Disadvantages: um gotta think hard oh yea a sore bum on the first day !!!
I've always imagined cp's as being a bunch of over priced sheds in the woods and have therfore never been , how wrong can you be ! Our twin daughters finally persuded us to book 3 two bed comfort villas for a midweek break at cp's Elvedon site as a birthday treat. The first thing that i noticed was how beautiful the woodland scenery is and how all the villas seem to blend in, and the strange quietness of cycling with no cars- heaven, first impression ? looking good, on to the village square and swimming complex, After donning the old shorts out into the pool - wow stunned ! slides, rappids, jacuzzis, hot outside pool , which was great when it snowed, fantastic wave pool and tropical ...

My husband and I had a weekend break at Centre Parcs Whinfell forest recently.
Like everything else in life it had its up and downs.Especially downs when I was riding my bike!!!

Our apartment was lovely with an en suite bathroom a kitchen with gas cooker and living sleeping ...

Just got back from a weekend in Elveden and have already booked a mid week break for next january. If you're a first time booker look carefully at the map and choose a villa in a good location for you.this does cost a bit extra but worth it I think. I wanted to be on the outer edge of the forest so our bike ride to the plaza was longer still only 10 mins though. The wild life was fantastic and I sat outside our villa hand feeding squirells, ducks ... ...the tree next to me!! You could if you wanted do nothing but walk and swim, the pool is free but there are loads of activities on offer. we found the prices resonable ( a badminton court for 4 for £6) apart from the snooker tables. It's possible to spend lots depending on the activities you want to do. villa (comfort plus)was great, clean and comfortable. parc market can be a bit expensive but we shopped at our local supermarket beforehand so only ...

During my stay at Center Parcs, Longleat, I decided to try out the Spa Experience at Aqua Sana. As with most Spa Experiences, this did not come cheap but I did not mind paying the £35 fee in order to have a thoroughly relaxing experience...Something to do...on my own...away from the hustle and bustle of normal life...

They are as follows:
1. This is my biggest moan of all. If it is relaxation you are going for, this Spa is not the place. It would be if you had the place to yourself but, unfortunately, the experience is ruined by the lack of consideration on the part of other Spa customers.
It seems that many people go ...

...a weekend stay at Sherwood Center Parcs and to be honest was pleasantly surprised. I booked it for the children really as we had not been on holiday with them for years and they weren't keen on flying abroad. I have to admit I really enjoyed it! My only moan was the staff in some of the facilities - they looked bored brainless and had a tendency to trot out pre-rehearsed lines in monosyllabic tones but what the hell, we still enjoyed ourselves!
Recommend that you take most foodstuffs/toiletries etc with you as supermarket was a bit pricey and didn't have much in the way of essentials ie cleanser/moisturiser/shampoos ...

...finally made it to a Center Parcs. We loved the car free environment, and enjoyed the activities we managed to book - racketball, bowling, archery, etc... but the weekend was marred by the rather joyless staff, worn-out villa, slow service and poor food. The park is about due for renovation, especially the Sub-Tropical-Swimming-Paradise. This swimming pool is begining to look dated and even with the new addtion of the Grand Cascade, is a little lack-luster.
Food was fairly good from every restaurant we used (Lucianos, Huckleberrys, Pancake House (the best) and Sportsbar (the worst).
We booked our events direct with Adrenalin Jungle this year the quad bikes are half the price and they also have lots of other events like the paintball, Archery and 4 x 4off road.
We =had a brilliant time, went on loads of bike rides, we went out of the park and across the road up these hills and through the forests. ...
