Cesky Cesky Bang Bang

Advantages: Too many to list
Disadvantages: Doesn't really reflect the real Czech comunity

...need to change trains in Ceske Budejovice. A big down point for taking a train is the fact that the Cesky Krumlov Train station is a bit of a walk from the town centre. Where the bus takes you straight to the heart of this Czech beauty, you will have to sweat up the hill on your hike from the train station. The ride also takes that extra bit longer to compete with the coach. But the decision is yours. WHERE TO STAY? Cesky Krumlov thrives on the ...
...sort of accommodation on offer. From hostels with beds for a mere 200* Czech Koruna to high standard hotels for which you can fork out thousands if you want to. I would advise you to book somewhere, even just for the first night. There should not be a problem in finding a place to stay but no one wants to be stranded in the middle of the night, do they. Most of the accommodation is well advertised on internet or by travel agents and people in CK ...

An Impressive Town in South Bohemia

Advantages: Medieval town filled with coffee shops and culture - not forgetting brown bears
Disadvantages: Too many tour groups

It was one of those wet, dreary days in the Czech Republic when we hopped on to the packed bus heading for Cesky Krumlov. Hoping the weather would brighten up a little as we waved goodbye to the enormous bus station in Prague, I started to wonder what this town, often described as the second fairy tale town in Czech Republic, was actually like. Sometimes the countryside in between towns in this region of South Bohemia can be plain, flat and somewhat ...
...up for this. Once we had arrived in Cesky Krumlov the drizzle was still with us but we didn't let this dampen our spirits and decided to look for a room for the night straight away so we could then settle down to walking around this wonderful town. The bus station in Cesky Krumlow is on the outskirts of the town and from this position doesn't look much different than other Czech towns except that the top of the castle is very noticeable and I should ...

....CK....

Advantages: Well preserved, very scenic
Disadvantages: It gets crowded

After leaving Sopron in Hungary (well we couldn't take it with us!), the next step on our journey was the Czech Republic. We made our way to the hotel we had booked in a little town called Frymburk, on Lake Lipno. The main purpose of our visit here was to see the town of CESKY KRUMLOV but we didn't want to stay in the town itself. Frymburk was perfect for us; a beautiful little hotel, in a picturesque and peaceful little lakeside village only 20 ...
...of the highlights of our holiday, somewhere we were really looking forward to seeing. We were not disappointed. After Prague, CESKY KRUMLOV is the best preserved historical town in Bohemia and is designated as one of UNESCO's World Monuments. All this despite being seriously neglected under communism (there's a surprise). Since the government changes in 1989, a lot of effort has been made to renovate the historic centre, and this has brought new ...

breathtaking place!

Advantages: cheap food and accommandation, great scenery
Disadvantages:

We visited Cesk Krumlov after a short stay in Pargue. We drove all the way from Prague to south Bohemia. traffic is very smooth and only took us three hours to get there. It's such a lovely small town and so different from Prague. We just love it after all the busy moment in Prague. We stayed in a small pension which only cost us 1350kc- half the price we paid in Prague. the room is quite comfortable and clean. We found that most of the pensions ...
