...you take a walk across Charles Bridge (Karlov Most). Charles Bridge is the possibly Prague’s most recognizable landmarks: an old stone gothic bridge lined with numerous statues of saints.
The bridge connects the Little Quarter (where the Castle and St Vitus’s Cathedral stand) with the old town. Once upon a time, Charles Bridge was the only way to cross the River Vltava that flows through the city. Now of course, there are several bridges that span ... ...eggs!! It was commissioned by Charles IV (after whom the bridge was named) in 1357. The building of the bridge was supervised by Peter Parler also known for his work in St Vitus Cathedral.

Nowadays there are many bridges connecting Old Town Prague and the New Town but there is still something very special about the Charles Bridge that makes it stand out from all the others. ...the direction of seeing was Charles Bridge which is built over the Vltava River. In 1357 the bridge began to be built but it wasn’t finished until some hundreds of years later in the 15th century. It measures 516 metres long and nearly 10 metres wide and it is filled with 30 big statues of historical figures including various Saints and Patron Saints.
From a distant the bridge is a breath taking site which can only be seen to be believed. The crowds ... ...with a lot of culture, history and plain old bargains to offer. If you manage to visit Prague then make sure you make time to visit Charles Bridge more than once because there is so much to see that you will miss a lot of it on your first visit. ...

Charles bridge is the oldest bridge in Prague. It was first built in the 11th century but in the 13th century it got destroyed by flooding. In 1357 Charles IV. started to rebuilt the bridge. 30 very old statues on the reiling are being replaced since 1995 (the originals are in the national museum).
For a long time trams crossed charles bridge, but it is only allowed to walk. But even that might finish soon, because Charles bridge is falling apart, ... ...opinion). From Charles bridge you get a beutiful view on the castle and other historical buildings. Just under Charles bridge is Kampa (a nice park), restaurants, very old houses and the river of course.
Just to say it simple - you have to go and see it yourself ...

Advantages: architectural beauty and historical value Disadvantages: souvenir prices differ for foreigners and locals (experienced it myself!)
...point, can make a wish. Another attraction there are local artists selling their works- paintings of Prague views, wood works. Musicians play here and young people from all over the world walk around.
The image of Charles bridge brings in some more magic in the whole image of Prague. ...

Advantages: A beautiful view Disadvantages: Depedning where the hotel is, it can be a bit of a hike to get to and all the side streets are easy to get lost in
I first visited Prague this February on a college trip and by accident stumbled upon this bridge. I made the agonising trip to the top of the tower and the views were well worth it..looking over towards the old town and the castle epitomised the total beauty of Prague for me. This was made considerably more romantic because it was Valentine's Day and there were lots of luck ladies walking aroung with roses. The sights of home have never seemed the ... ...part of Prague but definitely one you should visit. There are also stalls along the bridge and I bought a beautiful handcrafted necklance for #2 - bargain! Fortunately, I managed to take the perfect photo and gave pinned it to the wall so I never forget. I'm already saving up for a return trip! ...

this is quite simply the most beautiful bridge in the world. it is not like the untouched and quaint magdalen bridge in oxford, rather it is gothic and harsh, it is challenging and dirty, it is real life. it is lined with statues aall of which are dark and macabre. it was destroyed by a bomb but has been successfully rebuilt. i have walked across it at 5am and it was singularly the most beautiful thing. go there see it, see the traders, buy from ...
