The City Inn, Glasgow is located at Finnieston Quay, Glasgow, G3 8HN. For anyone unfamiliar with Glasgow this is an area that has been redeveloped in recent years, and is home to the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre. The area has the feel of somewhere on the up, with big businesses (like SMG) and developments all over, although its not totally there yet, and I'd compare it to the London Docklands 5-10 years ago before ... ...get you in to the City Inn" I thanked them, but at that point just had the impression it would be a fairly bog standard chain hotel. ...£6-£8 cab ride from the city centre depending on where you pick up a cab and is right next door to the SECC. The hotel is relatively modern and follows the same style as many business traveller orientated places. The emphasis is on style and comfort as well as showing off lots of gadgety benefits - well stocked mini-bar, dvd player in room, cd sound systems.
Unfortunately the staff are a little lack-lustre and really disinterested in guests - treating ... ...rather than hot food, running out of stock of basic food items.
Overall, if you are not looking for anything overly special the City Inn is a competent hotel. It's handy for the SECC and is central without being subject to the noise and bustle of the city centre. ...
