THE LOCATION
Coopers Camp & Caravan Site is located at New Fold Farm, Edale
Derbyshire S33 7ZD Telephone: 01433 670372 The site is open all year round but its location within the heart of Peak District does mean that it is rather exposed and it was pretty chilly at night even in late September.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The site is located within a valley bottom with impressive views of the surrounding mountains, of which Mam Tor at 1696 feet ... ...for Caravans, Camping Vans and Tents. The site is basically on three different fields which are all on a gentle slope and connected by a gravel path. The first field which is located nearest to the reception is the only location of the Toilets and Shower Block and this tends to be reserved for Caravans and Camper Vans. We had a tent which we pitched on the middle field but it was quite a walk from the Toilets and since there is no lighting on the ...

Quick review of Coopers Campsite - Edale
We have just spent the weekend at Coopers Campsite with our dog,it was a lovely weekend although the shower and toilet block is basic it was cleaned daily. There are some great walks and the views were spectacular. For once the weather did not spoil itself and we were able to sit outside our tent til 10.00 pm at night. Everyone on the site was very friendly it was our first camping experience and I would definately recommend it. It was a cheap weekend with plenty of fresh air exercise and the pubs all very good and animal and child friendly.
We will be coming back. Gill 6 August 07 ...

Review of Coopers Campsite - Edale
Advantages: a place to feel safe Disadvantages: overpriced and moody owners
Coopers campsite is situated in Edale and is the campsite which leads you directly onto the Pennine way. I first stayed on this site in 1985 when you were actually aloud to park your car at the side of your pitch and you were allowed to have a small, but controlled, open fire.
It is in a great location, right behind the village shop and a few metres from the Nags head pub, so you can crawl back to your tent after a skin full of real ale.
The site ... ...they are, and always have been, a miserable couple considering the amount of easy money they make with some empty field.
There are other smaller but more pleasant campsites around Edale and I would advice that you use them instead of the over priced and moodily staffed Coopers campsite. ...

This campsite is in a beautiful location. We have just returned from a weekend there as a party of 5 people. There's some stunning countryside and we had a great walk to the top of a hill where we contemplated our insignificance and ate a banana each. There's a friendly pub nearby too, with a reasonable selection of ales and some good food. Unfortunately we found the owner lacked social skills. We were 'welcomed' to the site with a stern telling ... ...campsite, including "no noise after 10pm", and "barbeques must be 300mm above ground level". Of course, these are reasonable requests, but we found the lady's manner aggressive. The camping was expensive, costing £18 for 2 nights (2 people, 1 car, 1 tent) and we were also charged a £5 deposit which she would retain if we made too much noise. The site was full and given the amount of money this lady had taken one would imagine she'd be a bit more ...
