Advantages Advantages Ideally located for most of London

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Limited evening eating.

The Corus hotel is based at Lancaster Gate, London. Rather nicely it sits opposite Hyde Park which gives you an opportunity to spend some relaxing time of a morning or evening. Checking in As I arrived at my hotel (paid for by my company) I was quite pleasantly surprised, in the Lobby the walls are covered with a beige marble; this then turns to white paintwork. My initial impression was that the location was a bit fancy for a company placement. I was cheerfully greeted by Wee Wee and Wee Lee who took a lot of time and effort to explain the hotel facilities, the surrounding location and how ... more

Advantages Advantages CLEAN, LOCAL IDEAL TO COMMUTE

    Disadvantages Disadvantages CRAMPED SPACE

When I decided on a short break down to London, I was totally stumped on somewhere to stay that was really close to the main attractions and also steered by the price. The Corus Hotel Hyde Park looked to be in an ideal location just 5 minutes walk from Lancaster Gate Tube station (100 yards)and 15 minutes away from Heathrow Airport where I had flown into perfect I thought. This hotel overlooks the infamous Hyde Park, hence the name and was only 3 stops from shoppers paradise. As you approach the hotel you firstly spot the restaurant which is located at the front, you need to walk past this and ... more

    Advantages Advantages Location

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Food

This hotel ideally located in the centre of London and is perfect for whether you are staying the capital for business for for pleasure. The central location means that it is extremely close to all of the capitals main attractions. Very close to the westend, it is perfect if you want to go and see a show. The rooms in this hotel are high class and are ideal for anyone, particularlly if you are travelling with your family. The food here isnt that bad, but there are plenty of of other places around to find a bit to eat. I wasnt to keen on the food but that was my personal opinion. The staff were ... more

    Advantages Advantages Location

Disadvantages Disadvantages Value, quality, customer service

Top price, bottom drawer At £130, it was top price (okay it was pre-Christmas), but for a tiny double room with remnants of a leak from above (or was it streaks of nicotine from its previous smoking room days?). Only very slim people should share that room! The en-suite bathroom was tucked into the eaves and surely wasn't intended for use by anyone over 5'2" . If that was a "superior" room, I'd hate to see anything less. After a night out, the bar didn't stock (surely) a common drink and other than baguettes, no food was available after midnight. The day was kick-started at 8am by an over ... more

Advantages Advantages good location & cheap for a 4 star hotel even if it is a bit rundown

Disadvantages Disadvantages very small rooms, masively overheated, watch out for tricky pricing deals

When I look back at my stay in the hotel that is the thing that stands out my wife and I were in an "executive twin" which was one of the relatively fiew with air conditioning this mostly offset the fact that even in July the hotel was heateded like a sauna. A colleague was in much smaller room a "twin" he had no AC and suffered greatly from the heat rvrm eoyj yjr window open the few inches it would go. When I booked the room I opted for the executive twin option not haviuing any idea what the difference was but as it wasnt a huge difference in money decided it was a good bet to keep my wife ... more
