Advantages: Ideally located for most of London Disadvantages: Limited evening eating.
The Corus hotel is based at Lancaster Gate, London. Rather nicely it sits opposite Hyde Park which gives you an opportunity to spend some relaxing time of a morning or evening.
Checking in
As I arrived at my hotel (paid for by my company) I was quite pleasantly surprised, in the Lobby the walls are covered with a beige marble; this then turns to white paintwork. My initial impression was that the location was a bit fancy for a company placement. ... ...I would recommend the Corus Hotel, as despite its several flaws its location and quality of food for breakfast make up for all other issues. On top of that it is a nice clean and well presented Hotel, and despite the fact the member's of staff have communication barriers they really do mean their best by the customer. ...

...by the price.
The Corus Hotel Hyde Park looked to be in an ideal location just 5 minutes walk from Lancaster Gate Tube station (100 yards)and 15 minutes away from Heathrow Airport where I had flown into perfect I thought.
This hotel overlooks the infamous Hyde Park, hence the name and was only 3 stops from shoppers paradise.
As you approach the hotel you firstly spot the restaurant which is located at the front, you need to walk past this and ... ...making facilities (present in every Corus Hotel)complete with tasty biscuits, the colour television was a small portable placed on wall brackets and there was also an alarm clock on the bedside table next to the bed.
Due to the lack of space, I began to worry as I thought that it was a shared bath something I had not even thought about checking on but there was a bathroom to the left and it was small to say the least the bath was the width of the ...

This hotel ideally located in the centre of London and is perfect for whether you are staying the capital for business for for pleasure. The central location means that it is extremely close to all of the capitals main attractions. Very close to the westend, it is perfect if you want to go and see a show. The rooms in this hotel are high class and are ideal for anyone, particularlly if you are travelling with your family. The food here isnt that ...

Advantages: Location Disadvantages: Value, quality, customer service
Top price, bottom drawer
At £130, it was top price (okay it was pre-Christmas), but for a tiny double room with remnants of a leak from above (or was it streaks of nicotine from its previous smoking room days?). Only very slim people should share that room!
The en-suite bathroom was tucked into the eaves and surely wasn't intended for use by anyone over 5'2" . If that was a "superior" room, I'd hate to see anything less. After a night out, the ... ...baguettes, no food was available after midnight.
The day was kick-started at 8am by an over eager maid and again at 8.30am, shortly followed by probably the worst hotel breakfast I've ever not eaten.
The surly receptionist wasn't in the slightest bit interested in our disapointment and as we took a cab to the recommended car park (Queens), I reflected on the shame that visitors to our great capital get rinsed like this every day. (By the way, its ...

Advantages: good location & cheap for a 4 star hotel even if it is a bit rundown Disadvantages: very small rooms, masively overheated, watch out for tricky pricing deals
When I look back at my stay in the hotel that is the thing that stands out my wife and I were in an "executive twin" which was one of the relatively fiew with air conditioning this mostly offset the fact that even in July the hotel was heateded like a sauna. A colleague was in much smaller room a "twin" he had no AC and suffered greatly from the heat rvrm eoyj yjr window open the few inches it would go.
When I booked the room I opted for the executive ... ...but as it wasnt a huge difference in money decided it was a good bet to keep my wife in a good mood as we were in London for a special ocasion. In the process of booking the "executive rather than the normal twin I missed the small proint that said that this did not include Breakfast so ended up paying an extra £20 per day for breakfast. If it hadnt been for the heat and the iritation at the extra breakfast cost I would have enjoyed my stay at the ...
