A taste of Spain

Advantages: Nice weather, pretty cheap
Disadvantages: Almost like being home because of a large Norwegian community

...looks like the Manhattan of Costa Blanca with all the tall concrete buildings. Benidorm has a long sandy beach where you can rent a sun bed and a parasol. Along the beach you’ll find plenty of bars and restaurants and lots and lots of shops selling all sorts of junk :-) It was pretty easy to get from Albir to Benidorm even without a car…bus number 10 seemed to run between the two places pretty often. Terra Mitica To get some entertainment we decided ...
...is located on the hills outside Benidorm so it only took us 15-20 minutes to drive there from Albir. When we were driving towards the park we noticed that we were pretty alone. After paying 5 € for the parking we walked over to the entrance of the park and once again we were puzzled to see that there were not that many people there. I guess this is not the main season because I have never experienced a park with such few people. We had gotten some ...

...time I went to the Costa Blanca was in 1997 on my honeymoon.I stayed at Javea in a villa with its own pool. The first thing I noticed was that when we drove from Alicante upto Javea, how the scenery changed so much.I found the scenery dry and not very interesting around Alicante right upto Benidorm. Its only after passing Benidorm that the scenery really becomes breath taking. ///// Javea ///// Javea was stunning. It is full of orange trees that fill ...
...I must say the North Costa Blanca is my favourite by along way.I found the South dry and flat. The North has beautiful lush green mountains and valleys. After my first visit to the North,I fell in love with the area and have since been back 10 times.I even bought a house in Denia as my heart is now there. The North also has beautiful beaches and contrasting beaches.Denia for example has sandy beaches in the north and rugged rocky beaches to the south. There ...

Advantages: You Slide like a kipper

...affordable Package breaks in the Costa Blanca. Welcome to my world. Come on in, but wipe your feet please. And no pets. No smoking at the back either. Viva Espana. Who has ever said that, and not go on to buy a Sombrero and Wicker Donkey? The Costa Blanca. The White Coast. Not Dover. Not White. A bit rocky brown really, but It’s lovely and next year I will be presiding there. I might even be living there too. Just outside the Newtown of Benidorm, ...
...of Not Dover, there is a really quite splendid water-park that goes by the name of “Aqualandia”. I’ve just been. Literally – I was there yesterday. And today I’m going to wax lyrical about it for a while. I may even throw in a foreign word or two. Aqualandia is accessible for €4 by taxi from the main Square in Benidorm, or for €2 you can get a bus. Taxi’s are your quickest and most reliable way of getting into the park although, such is the bizarre ...

...leave to live in the Costa Blanca when i was 18, that was nearly 7 years ago now. At the time I was not ready to leave all of my friends and girlfriend, but 7 years on i would love to do the same thing with my fiancee! My parents have lived in Javea and Moraira, which are 2 areas within the Costa Blanca, around half an hour North of Benidorm. I will try and cover as much of the sights, sounds and smells of the area in this review, and try to recommend ...
...of the towns in the Costa Blanca. This market sells anything you can think of - crafts, food, music, videos, clothing etc. The main place to visit in the Costa Blanca, and the main attraction for thousands of tourists every year is Benidorm. Think Blackpool, heat it up a bit, remove the trams and you've got Benidorm! Whenever i holiday in Spain i always spend at least a couple of days and nights in Benidorm, because there is a hell of a lot to do. ...

SUN SAND SEA SURF AND SARDINES

Advantages: peaceful, beautiful, unspoilt, cheap the list can go on
Disadvantages: can be far too hot

Moraira on the Costa Blanca and is just under 2.5 hours flight away from Gatwick, the weather in June is as you would expect fantastic with temperatures up into the 90’s daily and with nearly 12 hours of sun shine what more could you ask. Moraira is situated north of Alicante away from all the hustle and bustle of Benidorm. Moraira lies in a bay on the south eastern coast of Spain, between the larger resorts of Javea and Calpe, 80km around 1 hours ...
...from both directions. The Costa Blanca is known as Spain’s ‘White Coast’ which is because of its miles of white sandy beaches and warm water. Moraira is a pretty fishing village based around the cobbled square with a very pretty marina an fish market, stunning churches, main square and back streets bursting with shops, restaurants and bars, makes this town worth exploring, Moraira has been designated as a conservation zone of extraordinary beauty ...

The roads leading out off the airport towards Benedorm are mainly very fast moving motorways, which in summer can be very crowded all day and into the night so please be ready for a little delay’s on this route. ...to jet off to Javea, Costa Blanca, Spain. The holiday was mainly arranged by my boyfriend and his friend, who had both been there before and both declare that they are 'past their clubbing days'! We arranged our holiday with James Villas, whose representatives were very helpful throughout (especially when the main fuse blew in the middle of the night and no-one knew where spanish fuse boxes were hiden and it was too dark to look even if we did!). ...

(HOT TIP- if you've arranged car hire, a later flight is a nifty perk, as you often get upgraded to a better car as all the cheap ones have been allocated! Or so I'm told! We got upgraded from a Daewoo Matiz to Peugot 307 (I think), bargain!) we then drove on to the villa, a 3 bedroomed villa with a pool, called Joanne. I can't ...

The White Coast

Advantages: nice coast with lovely countryside
Disadvantages: Urbanizaciones taking over, month of August to avoid

The Costa Blanca stretches from Valencia down Spain´s southeastern coast to Cartagena, offering different landscapes from flat marshes to rugged coastlines. There is only one larger city, Alicante, where charter flights from Britain, Scandinavia and Central Europe spill their mostly sun-seeking clientele. My wife has always been one of these constantly freezing snowbirds who fears the continental Austrian winters, she doesn´t indulge in winter sports ...
...a zone where temperatures never fall below 22°C... This is just to explain why one freezing December morning she came up with a realty ad from our paper that offered an appartement near Torrevieja on the Playa Flamenca (which has nothing to do with the Spanish national dance, it refers to a bunch of Flamish Belgians who were the first to "settle" there). Well, to make the story short, three months later we were the proud owners of this brand new ...

...family who live on the Costa Blanca and have visited there many times. What I love about the area is the range of different places to visit, some of which offer tourist attractions and others are very traditional and almost untouched by European holiday makers. They managed to deal with 7million new visitors last year, a target that was set for 2010 by the Spanish tourist board. Not just Benidorm

Advantages: Full of unspoiled beauty
Disadvantages: Out of the way

When you mention The words Costa Blanca, most people see Benidorm, miles of skyscapers, thousands of hotels, nightclubs and noisy teenagers. But the Costa Blanca is not just Benidorm. Travel just over 30 miles north and you will discover the fishing village of Moraira. These 30 miles are like being on a different planet. In Moraira buildings cannot be over 4 storey high. You can count the streets on one hand only but it has character and you can ...

The marina is lively and increadably clean, so clean in fact that you can watch the fish swimming around the boats. There are two beautiful sandy beaches and a whole range of watersport facilities on offer. Every weekends the village put on free concerts or dance displays in the square by the church. Moraira is a little paradise. It is never ...

Great holidays in Torrevieja

Advantages: Nice beaches
Disadvantages: Crowded in August

Hi everyone!!! I only want to share my experience with all of you because it was great!!! I found a nice apartment in Torrevieja through Niumba, a holiday rental website, where you can find the perfect accommodation for anywhere you want to go at a good price in Spain and also in the rest of Europe ( Italy, Germany, France or Portugal). Once you have rented where to stay, it's easy to keep on planning your holidays. It's just what I did. Once I ...

Guadalest

Advantages: Beautiful and interesting place to visit
Disadvantages: Can be considered a little far to go

I just wanted to let you all know about Gudalest. It is a small village in the mountains and it is gorgeous. It is set on a small hill so it can be a bit of a walk for the very unfit but there are plenty of bars and shops to stop at on the way up. There are a couple of museums, one showing you how the houses used to be on the inside and one ,which is more for the kids, which is a miniature museum, you can see a poem written on a grain of rice. When i went they had lions living in part of the mountain, all fenced off of course and they listened to classical music all day. it was lovely to see them in a more ...

I have my dream house there

Advantages: Beautiful scenery, plenty to do
Disadvantages: None

...house nr Moraira on the Costa Blanca in Sept 2003. The place exceeded all our expectations. It is a top floor appartment on the Cumbre del Sol urbanisation which is basically between Moraira and Benitachell on the Northern Costa Blanca. It is just off teh A7-E15 toll road at the Benissa turn off. Acess to Benitachell has been much improved by teh new roundabout. Cumbre del Sol itself has so many facilities and all the properties are privately owned. ...
...Plenty of shopping places and Costa Blanca served by both Alicante and Valencia airport. Even Murcia airport is not too far away. We always hire a car so that we can fully appreciate the local area, although our late night trip to Albacete in thick fog when I was heading for Alicante will never cease to put a smile on my face. Car hire is so cheap and we have never paid more than £80 for a week from Holiday Autos or carjet and my hubby recently flew ...
