Advantages: college - rated top in the country Disadvantages: 50+% of chavs lack of good shops
...to start?! Ive lived in Crewe my whole life, and as a result ill need therapy for the rest of my life! well, maybe thats an exaggeration (marginally).
I live 5 minutes from Crewe town centre, and have the 'pleasure' shall we say, of using these facilities. Any visitors to Crewe will be well aware of the fact that this is no major city, by far. Crewe is just backwards place, known mainly for its railway station, and possibly the worlds worst football ... ...to the bus station.
Crewe is not the typical town, with a relatively small town centre, but with a small retail park less than a mile away, and a major-road high stree, close to the train station. Where you are most likely to find more jewellery shops, clothes stores, pubs and restaurants.
Crewe is not known for its night-life although it has its share of pubs, and a handful of clubs which support crewes budding musicians. For a small town, the ...

Advantages: Look around give it a chance Disadvantages: first impressions
I live just outside Crewe and go here very often, including to work on a Saturday, and it is a lovely place with everything you could ever want.
Crewe isn't known for it's nightlife but it has the usual nightclubs and pubs a cinema and bingo but remember it is just a small town. All the sports you could ever want to play are acommodated for and there is a beautiful park complete with a boating lake and swans.
Plus during summer you get Punch and ... ...don't be too harsh
Crewe developed from a railway town and still has the orginal station and town hall. It has big indoor and outdoor markets where you can buy everything from fresh fish to material and DIY, as well as a more modern shopping centre for clothes and other items.
I think Crewe is a really nice place to visit and live. I recommend a visit to Queen's Park it is a beautiful place and the town is nice too. We even have a fish and chip ...

Advantages: Nice theatre Disadvantages: Its never going to be a popular tourist destination
Crewe is not the best town in the world. Its shops are the usual array of highstreet stores with nothing original or unusual about them. Its cinema is second rate at best and its town centre never looks appealing.
However it does have some good points. First there is the lyceum. This is a good little theatre with resonably priced tickets and a wide array of shows. The market is large and has a good secondhand book stall.
The bus station offers ... ...Queens park for small children.
Crewe is not a dynamic centre of development. It is not much more than a small north town with little to rteccommend it above the fact that it is quite nice if you have a few hours to spare and don't expect much. ...

...to knock a town, and Crewe has had plenty of critics. Much of it is justified but Crewe is being transformed as we speak. The outdated town centre (about one mile from Crewe train station) is about to be completely remodelled, with a vast new shopping centre with national and international names at last coming to the town. There is now a superb bowling, cinema and Pizza Hut complex. The bus station is being reloated, the train station is also due ... ...built, Bentley Motors is booming, new cafes, bars and clubs have opened and the town's Municipal Square (now including the Britannia War Memorial) looks fantastic. If you find yourself at Crewe station with a two hour wait while you are changing trains, preferably on a wet Sunday evening, take a walk into Crewe town centre. Years ago, my father did this, eventually asking a local where the town centre was. “You’re in it”, he was told. A brief look around will immediately reveal why this is the part of the country where you can buy an entire street of houses for one pound. The town is, in a word or two, the ... ...leave towns such as Crewe and move to, say, Guildford where everything is vastly more expensive and where the people are so “toffee-nosed”, as Northerners constantly like to tell us. But don’t take my word for it - find out for yourself - get that train which connects at Crewe... ...
