Advantages: Very good location, excellent breakfast! Disadvantages: rooms a little scruffy.
My boyfriend booked us 3 nights in this hotel for a relaxing / sightseeing weekend. He gave me the address and told me to meet him there (we live in separate towns). I spent a good 45 mins driving in circles around harrogates' one way system, but eventually I managed to find it. I was gobsmacked - it looked magnificent!!! Its a huge taditional style building (it was origionally a coaching inn)overlooking a sort of mini park with grass and flowers ... ...and luxurious feeling, with plenty of very smartly dressed staff. The ceilings are very high with traditional looking columns and furnishings. I was quite overawed, it all looked very posh (and pricey) to me.
As we left the lobby and started to climb the stairs to our room on the 3rd floor (the lift seemed to be out of order) I noticed that the decor was beginning to look somewhat less well maintained. The further up we went, the more run down it ...
