Cyprus Turkish Airlines is quite an anomaly of an airline; flying, as it does, between northern European countries and increasingly popular holiday destinations, they are clearly targeting the tourism market. However, they are doing so with outdated planes and customer service that leaves a lot to be desired and so they seem to be doing as much as they can to put people off travelling to the beautiful TRNC. I have never written a review but find that my recent experience deserves one, To cut to the chase we have flown with KTHY on at least 15 occassions since 1999 and have first hand experience of the service going from bad to worse, but surprise surprise this is a good review. I flew Heathrow to Izmir in Oct 07. Crew were ok, not as miserable as expected based on the reviews I had read. No in flight entertainment but meal on way out was very good. On arrival in Izmir one of my suitcases had been ripped on 2 sides. Had a very good experience with this airline. We travelled with a 84 year old lady and a 3 year old boy. The staff bent over backwards to help with getting on and off the plane. The air hostesses were friendly and helpful. The food was good - we had 2 good meals and drinks. The airplane itself was quite old but it was clean.
