Advantages: Good food, reasonable prices, friendly Disadvantages: None
...They'd have no problems with Da Mario Restaurant. An open kitchen runs along the right and up to the window. Chefs in smart whites and caps in large back and white checks josh with waiters at quiet times. But there's not many of those because this Italian restaurant is a popular destination for students, business and conventioneers. The restaurant serves home made food from inexpensive pizzas and pasta to steaks and classic meat dishes. I eat here ... ...precinct. I ate there four times at the end of March 2001. I was remembered on my second visit and by my fourth they knew my likes and greeted me like a friend.

Advantages: During the meal deal it's quite cheap, the pizza's aren't horrible Disadvantages: Hideously rude staff, dated decor, overpriced alcohol
...and a friend went to Da Mario's for the £5 for any pizza or pasta deal they have between 5pm and 7pm mid-week.
As we sat down we felt the decor looked a couple of decades out of date, but didn't mind as long as the food and service was good. However my girlfriend felt that as they kept the front door open and it was an open kitchen, it would have been nice to have some music in the background to try mask the sounds of the city and the cooking. At ... ...order and we sat to wait. Given that it is in the centre of Leeds we expected a little price increase over what we'd judge 'standard' prices for Italians, but we felt £4 for a small glass of wine and £14 for a bottle of house wine way too much.
So we tried to ask for water but every time the waiter gave us something (cutlery, pizza etc) he immediately did an about face and walked away as quickly as he could, leaving me with my mouth open saying ...

Advantages: competitive pricing, good food, good location Disadvantages: cannot book
Da Mario Ristorante and Pizzeria advertises itself as a family run business and has been trading from its premises in Leeds since 1974.
Da Mario's is situated on the Headrow in Leeds next to the head office of the Leeds and Holbeck Building society - which means it's pretty easy to find. Car parking as with most places in Leeds is non-existent - however cabs are allowed to pull up outside, and bus services are regular.
The restaurant has a very ... ...around the two rooms - it can cater for parties, but as it doesn't take bookings this cannot be guaranteed. It may seem strange that they will not accept bookings, but it's quite nice in a way because you can always get in, and the place is full but not packed.
The food is excellent for the price. I especially recommend the speciality seafood lasagne with fresh muscles, although if that's not quite to your taste you will find a wide variety of Italian ...

Advantages: pleasant, good prices, nice food Disadvantages: no debit cards or bookings
...I enjoy my dinner at Da Mario’s Restaurante e Pizzeria, thus I would like to share with you my experiences there….yes I can tell you there are all experiences for me…at least gastronomic!
Da Mario, sited for almost 25 years in the busiest road of Leeds, the Headrow (opposite of Town Hall), gives you the impression that is forgotten from the time. It is a family business, as that’s what it is written on the sign. But their ... ...I do not know, although Da Mario is always full they don’t do reservations at all and they do not accept Switch as well. So better take cash with you.
The interior design is very nice with small rounded tables for two and some bigger ones. Just a bit of melodically Italian music and low light are composing a very pleasant romantic dinner for everyone.
At the end and before you pay your bill, don’t forget to taste real Italian ice-cream, ...
