I know Bostonianbeer has done a review on Da Sandro which we visited in Venice this year.
But I feel duty bound to put a CALZONE fanactics point of view.
How to find Da Sandro.
Cross over the Rialto Bridge and continue ahead until you see a kind of main street leading to your left, it should be ... ...around and you will see Da Sandro,
The Restaurant has two rooms on either side of the street, the one on the right has tables out front enclosed in a tented area.
The seats in here are Benches and tables, the minus is that the Benches are fixed to the tables, so the gap you see is the gap you sit in, be warned this gap is not very wide so if above size ZERO get an inside table.
They get busy so best book ahead TEL 041-523-4894.

Advantages: Great place to eat Disadvantages: nothing
...Rialto area we came across Da Sandro, and thought we may give it a try.
They have a good basic menu, and seating inside for about 20 and then a covered are at the front with 8 bench seats and long tables to seat 32 at a push. The heating was on and very enjoyable. The kitchen is on view so you are able to watch the chef/cook at work which is always a bonus and everywhere was clean and tidy. They do serve pizza and the pizza oven is the other side ... ...wine, water and beer, we all had a starter, either pasta or the home made soup and all clean plates from us 5. For mains Jane had polo, which was well cooked, 3 of us had pizza Vesuvius and Steve had a Calzone pizza which had a coating of tomato sauce on the top. We did get asked if we would like a dessert but they had sold out of the tiramisu, so declined, but as an after thought it would have been too much.

Advantages: Good wholesome food at great prices. Disadvantages: A little hard to find!
...found the two reviews on Da Sandro Pizzeria. Suitably inspired, I decided to check Da Sandro out midway through our break and was very impressed, not only was the Da Sandro well away from those awful tourist hang outs, but it actually lived up to expectations for its food and pricing. Opting for a table inside, we started with a house red, which was very drinkable, I then opted for the three bean soup whilst my wife had for the mozzarella and tomatoe ...
