    Advantages Advantages wonderfully clean

    The Dead Sea is well known for being the place where anyone can float. In fact it is all you can do in the sea as it is so saturated with minerals and salts which have great health giving properties.This is because it is the lowest place on earth and also one of the hottest. There are 2 resort Hotels just 40km from Amman, The Movenpick is beautiful and very expensive at £30 per day for access to their private beach and spa centre ( Treatments extra ), or the Dead Sea Resort hotel which is only £10 per day for the same, treatments such as mud baths are extra.     Advantages Advantages Float in the Dead Sea

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Have to pay hotel prices as no local shops

    We stayed for 5 days at the Dead Sea resort of the Movenpick which is longer than the average tourist but we wanted to have more time to relax at the end of a hectic tour of Jordan. The hotel is stunning and attracts a large number of tourists from the Middle east and Europe. It has a number of restaurants and some small shops and quite extensive English language library. ( I borrowed Shane Ritchies autobiography!) It has a luxurious spa reasonable well priced and I sampled a Dead Sea Salt rub and massage which was great but not for the faint hearted.
