I don't think you'll get the Title unless well your alternative, just like this pub.
The Dev - as it is affectionately known by it's clientele is a long standing Goth Pub in Camden, London.
It even has it's own website now!! http://devcamden.co.uk/
This and Slimenight were the reasons I chose to come to London.
It's the perfect place to meet pre-club or just after or before a weekend shopping trip to Camden, perhaps after work - if you're into ... ...into someone you know - or meet somepeople you didn't know before.
MISAPPREHENSIONS:
Sub-cultures do of course attract the stranger of the community and although you feel you may have met a particularly strange Goth before rest assured we are quite normal! The Dev celebrates that acceptance - you are who you are - and if you are a goth you really will feel at home here. I might add that I met a friend in there just a few weeks ago that although ...

Advantages: Reasonable prices Disadvantages: You have to be a regular to REALLY enjoy it
...on taking us to the Devonshire Arms. She told us it was a Goth pub and that my friend (who appears Gothic to some people) would love it. So the five of us made our way over there...
Well I did not feel that positive as I read the sign on the front door warning that only "appropriate" dress code was allowed... Although I sometimes dress in this way, that day I was wearing towny-ish clothes finished off with a pair of silver hoop earrings and a green ... ...Now this woman was obviously not a Goth and her friend looked like a type of business man probably in his fifties...my friend's mum was looking very quiet and very much like a...mother...
Well we walked in and I'm sure everyone was staring at us. The fact that the three of us weren't drinking that night made us even more out of place next to this pre-clubbing community of heavily made-up youngsters, many with hair in colours that wouldn't look out ...

Advantages: Fine decor, great music Disadvantages: A bit cramped
The Devonshire Arms is an alternative (goth, rock, punk, whatever) sort of pub in the heart of Camden Town in London, and often the place of choice to be, prior to a gig at the Camden Underworld or one of the other nearby venues.
I like the place. In fact I like a lot of the pubs in London and being in London in general, as it means less likelihood of being attacked for having the wrong clothes, or for having long hair, or for daring to be the slightest ... ...for another review.
The Devonshire is easy to get to from Camden tube- exit on the left as you walk up to the surface, and then head left down the road.
Actually I've just seen a hilarious question for this review which Ciao have decided to ask- "How flirtatious is the clientele?" Er, I don't go picking up strangers looking for an easy fumble in some stinking alleyway, and anyway I'm in a long-term relationship and wouldn't want to do such a thing, ...

Advantages: Strawberry Beer, nice decor, Beer Garden with heaters Disadvantages: Miserable staff, small toilets
Despite the staff having faces like they've been sucking lemons I do love this drinking establishment in W8.
Situated halfway between Earls Court & High Street Kensington this is a perfect after work watering hole. The clientle are a mix of trendy media types and late business lunches to the odd student or couple out on a date.
Food is served, I recommend the giant potato wedges and spicy Mayonisase.
They also serve Fruli a yummy begium strawberry ... ...hold of in London.
The beer garden is psciius and situated in the front of the pub with giant heat lamps under a canopy to keep your warm if it's a tad nippy.
Inside there are fairylights, lovely old looking leather couches and foot poofs, gilt mirros and candles.
Its not really the best pub for sporting events as a large screen TV appears and is placed at the back of the pub (this suits me though as I go to socialise and not watch football!).

Advantages: Friendly local, if you're a Goth Disadvantages: Not so welcoming if you've obviously come along to play 'gawp at the freak'
Tucked away behind Camden market, this pub bills itself as 'London's Gothic Tavern'. Which is, to be frank, gilding the lily just a little. A regular haunt for a goodly section of London's goth, punk and alternative scene, the attraction for its locals is more the clientele than the venue - if you stay there long enough someone you know will probably be in. On the other hands the drinks are reasonably priced, although probably not the first pick ...

Advantages: like a goth film set, excellent for tourists Disadvantages: they take themselves to seriously
...real Goth hang out The Devonshire Arms. It's conveintly located in Camden on Crawley road. Here the clientele are all living in a 1980's Bauhaus video and are waiting for a sequel to "Interview with a Vampire". This is where the real Goths Hang out in London. Who knew they needed a pub to chat over their vampire lifestyles in. Who knew they still took themselves seriously after all these years? Siouxsie Sioux look a likes are popular here as well ...
